Its an Obama world.
The US Air Force kicked Christian Gideons volunteers off base in March.
The Bibles were too offensive and violated the separation of church and state rule.
But US military personnel are expected to adhere Islamic practices during Ramadan.
Stars and Stripes reported:
U.S. personnel accustomed to drinking their coffee on the drive to work will have to put that habit on hold for about a month. Its one of a few lifestyle changes Americans will have to make during the holy month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Officials expect Ramadan to begin at sunrise on Saturday, depending on when the new moon is sighted. The holy month lasts for approximately 30 days until about July 28. For Muslims around the world, Ramadan is a month of fasting and devotion to God. Most Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, when families gather for Iftar the meal that breaks the fast.
For the 8,200 U.S. personnel living here, and those serving throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility including servicemembers, civilian personnel, contractors and family members the month may require changing some daily routines.

As long as Americans behave like sheep they will be lions.
0b0z0’s military. He’s the Whiner-In-Chief.
If we don’t send our military to prop these islamist regimes up, then the terrorists win. Or something like that.
May I suggest an enormous pig luau at the main base gate?
Are drag shows and “tolerance” for sodomites training sessions scheduled during Ramadan in Obama’s brave new military?
September 11, 2001 really put our knuckling down to Islam into overdrive. If they ever manage to kill hundreds of thousands of us, or more, we’ll likely be required to convert to show them how diverse and tolerant we are.
We wouldn’t want Islam’s self-esteem to suffer, now would we?
Remember - when you go to work - make sure you strap some good ole’ tasty Duncan Donuts to your dash and throw extras to other commuters while you chomp away...drink coffee with a smile and cheerfully bring in large dishes of food to work that smells heavenly...because that would counter anything and everything...and if you take a cab — buy some Cinnamon buns - fresh out of the oven...and take the long way...saying out loud...uhm uhm uhm uhm...Glad I’m out of the military at this point!
They can RAM! Ramadan up where the sun don’t shine!
My son is deployed and he told me they serve pork at chow. I was surprised, but pleased. Although he misses his mom’s pork BBQ.
Active Duty ping.
In Afghanistan the main base chow hall served turkey bacon and turkey sausage. The camp where I was billeted had it’s own chow hall and the SFC traveled to Germany and purchased the food items. He brought back Bitburger Alcohol Free, Basken Robbins (gallon cartons) and Hagendas (spelling?).
He also brought back whole frozen hogs.
Being in a unit that runs under the radar has it’s perks.
Tell them to pund sand while you sip your coffee and pull on a Cig.
My son is also off of the main base. Maybe that is the difference. I know they eat a lot of locally sourced food. He figured the pork was “imported”. Maybe in the way you described. :-)
U.S. forces are not required by our government to do anything during Ramadan other than dress more conservatively and attend cultural training classes so they know how not to offend their host country.
Its the policies of Islamic businesses/restaurants and foreign governments that will probably make Americans adapt to their Ramadan practices when off-base. For example, many Islamic businesses/restaurants will be closed during daylight hours. So Americans won’t be able to purchase food during that time.
