President Obama, tired of waiting for Congress to act on immigration reform, is currently exploring ways to address issues with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.
During an interview with MSNBCs Chuck Todd, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest explained that the Obama was getting impatient with Congress.
[W]ere not just going to sit around and wait interminably for Congress, he explained. Weve been waiting a year already. The president has tasked his Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson with reviewing what options are available to the president, what is at his disposal using his executive authority to try to address some of the problems that have been created by our broken immigration system.
Earnest added although Obama was exploring executive action, it was not a substitute for robust Congressional action on immigration reform.
Thats why were trying to focus on getting that done, he concluded.
Obama has been heavily criticized after his 2012 executive decision to defer the deportations of some young illegal immigrants which critics argue was a key incentive for more children to cross the border illegally.

This Josh guy is going to be Carney II very soon.
What if we all said that we are not going to just sit around and wait for tax reform, so we are not paying? Think that would fly?
Enforce the law, bozo,
It never occurs to them or the press that maybe congress is just against the laws they want to pass.
Just kidding! Of COURSE it occurs to them. They just don’t want to report it that way.
Wow.
That is EXACTLY what needs to happen. Same as the Colonists refused complying with the tyranny they faced.
When we refuse to comply with the agents of tyranny - the Tyrants will impose their will by force - and demonstrate for all that they have no legitimate authority over a righteous people.
Hell, no, there are world-class golf courses out there just waiting to be played!
IT AIN'T BROKE! YOU JUST AIN'T ENFORCING THE LAWS!.............what an a$$hole..............
LOL! And we thought carny was an asshat.
You know this is in response to Boehners meaningless lawsuit. By the time his lawsuit is done obamas transformational change will be done. John, Mitch, obamas giving you that middle finger. I think they said ok with them.
Why worry, it seems our government and society as a whole is devoid of following the rule of law in the first place...Why bother with any of it???
If you have a vehicle that has a speedometer that measures speed up to say 120mph...
And most maximum speed limits (you know, the law) says that 75 is about the max in some parts of the country...Why allow vehicles that “can” break the law, be registered, taxed and operated on those roads???
Why not Executive Order vehicles to be recalled and governed to only be able to operate up to the maximum speed limit of your state, or the nation for that matter...
For starters...
Just illustrating the absurd by being absurd...
Good thing Congress and our SCOTUS do not have the stones to put this executive branch back into check...
Oh well...It was a nice run anyway...We made it, what, 236 years...
Yeah, it's not like you (the administration) has anything else to do, like um, I don't know, enforcing the laws already on the books?
Weve been waiting a year already. The president has tasked his Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson with reviewing what options are available to the president, what is at his disposal using his executive authority to try to address some of the problems that have been created by our broken immigration system.
Yes it's unfortunate the Presidant seems to have few options. It's almost like his job is *executing* the laws as written, not writing them. Huh. I wonder why that is... (Confused look)
Yes, check with the Constitutional scholars at the DHS. I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of this great mystery there. Meanwhile, where's that pen and phone again...
I’m waiting for the classic, “This issue is too important to leave up to the voters.” I got a twenny on two weeks. Any takers?
The only thing broken is the will to enforce existing law.
I have a Corvette. In advance of some ruling you’re talking about that would regulate how fast a car can run...... I had a little “fling” with speed yesterday on a deserted portion of highway. What a cool car. :)
if it was so important, why didn't they do it when they controlled the House?
he might want to check today’s Supreme Court decision about that...
Your’s or my intent???
If both, I’m hip to the idea...It hurts me to be that way, if that’s the case...;-)
Like I said, this country has had a relatively good run...Rule of Law is a real beotch, if you just do not feel like being lawful...
Ironic isn’t it???
;-)
