Three faculty members walked out of the Louisiana Tech University commencement ceremony Saturday to show their disdain for alumnus Phil Robertson.
Students in the Louisiana Tech's LGBTQ organization, Prism, sparked the idea via social media.

Isn’t that cute? They threw a hissy fit.
That’s a classy move!
Nice one, ‘educators’. You certainly taught something that day.
There are none less tolerant than liberals screaming for tolerance.
I wonder why they don’t reach out and try to UNDERSTAND him....they should really be more accepting and inclusive.....
I’ve also seen some other letters after the Q, in some descriptions of the “LBGT” or “LGBTQ” community. I think that there are additional combinations in the sexual identity/sexual orientation industry. Sort of like Facebook has 56 different gender possibilities. They are getting carried away with all of this, in my opinion.
>>Q=Queer<<
Isn’t that kinda redundant?
THREE?! that does not constitute “Faculty Walk Out”
as much get up to go to the bathroom at any given moment... especially the metro sexuals who have to primp more.
sheesh.
Only three? LA Tech is doing way better than the average apparently.
I think this is a clear violation of the theology of political correctness which calls for tolerance and celebration of diversity. By definition, if you are being tolerant, doesn’t that mean you would never walk out on someone like that?
Fire all three.
I used to work for a major university and know a lot of professors who fit that description. I say let the remuneration be determined by the customers, same as every other market.
Let them walk. good riddance to bad garbage as far as I am concerned.
The place probably instantly smelled better after they left the room.
They are as entitled to their freedom of expression as Robertson is to his.
Sometimes the ‘Q’ stands for questioning, sometimes it stands for queer.
Freegards
I agree. I’m frustrated that this has filtered down to the high school level. Many high schools have “Gay Straight Alliance” clubs. Why do we need a club in high school to talk about homosexuality?
I understand that, if one feels the pull, that consenting adults will head on down to The Castro and explore that lifestyle to their heart’s content. My frustration is that we are talking about this issue with high school kids in the first place.
I was talking to a young person not long ago, don’t know if he was liberal or not. But he accepted that there were gay straight alliance clubs. He was shocked to hear me say that, back when I was in school, such a club would be unthinkable.
I want tenure at my job!
"I beg your pardon?"
This is an award or recognition voted on by the alumni for an alumnus of the school. No one cares what the “queer folk” think of it and the faculty who walked out have brought embarrassment and shame to the institution. If I were in charge, I’d void their tenured status and fire then on that basis.
Marxists are so open minded.
Pray America wakes up
