Geez, here we go. Can’t wait to see the comments on this.
I hear that kids don’t like these new lunch standards. What are we going to do, shove it down their throats?
Keep the god damn government away from our kids and out of our schools. Local, parental control only on school boards - please!
Because everybody knows chocolate milk is RACIST!!!!!
States....stand up!!!
Cardboard and water are about all that fit the new standards. No fat, no sodium, high fiber....what’s not to like????
That’s obviously racist since chocolate milk is dark skin..I see they won’t be banning the white milk..racist punks
“education statutes in order to comply with new federal school lunch standards on sodium, which is found in chocolate milk.”
Comrad, we have our ways to make you understand we are in charge in our liberal utopia.
Give me a brake, now they are banning chocolate milk? WTF, I think it is past midnight on the count down for Rev II to begin.
Isn’t it segregation to ban chocolate milk?
I ran a school milk route for several years. One kid will make a comment about the milk tasting funny and it will spread out to the entire cafeteria.
Connecticut lawmakers move to ban chocolate milk in public school..well it’s good to see that someone has the BALLS to stand up to the cocoa bean. Think of all the lives that will no doubt be saved.
We have gone so far down the toilet that a baggie of Nestle’s Quik is contraband. Strawberry will get you on additional charges.
Chocolate milk.....the number one problem facing our schools today.
Thank Dog someone has finally taken a stand in this, one of the most important issues in a generation...

Fat free chocolate milk is great
On Friday, I called the office of Rep. Sharkey, [Speaker] after reading that this obamanation was *inadvertantly* added to the education bill.
My question to them was how does one INADVERTANTLY have something like this added to the bill? Didn’t anyone read it before voting?
This poor staffer named *Chris* hemmed and hawed, could not answer. In the background I heard lots of shuffling of papers. Finally, he tried to assure me that this would not be signed by Gov. Malloy. He got an earful of what a crappy job elected officials are doing to craft the legislation that is oozing out of Hartford. I suppressed my outrage over the choco milk issue. The yahoos in Hartford haven’t a clue what they are doing.
On the issue of choco/flavored milk, it it obvious the kids stop drinking milk all together....and income from lunch sales suffer and levels never come back to the level of pre-ban. Experiences in/studies from Yale, Oregon, Virginia show this clearly. This is local issue....and should be something decided by a parent. Teach your kid to make good choices at home and carry them over to school lunch, if a few carbs in choco milk bothers you so much.
An aside, *Tru-Moo* has changed their formula to not include high-fructose sugar in their choco milk. They got in front of this, and are smart about it b/c the accounts for school milk are substantial and not to be trifled.
Let’s starve!
