When it comes to discovering elements the United Kingdom is at the top of the table.
This periodic table graphic was posted by Google Science Fair on Sunday and shows which nations discovered each element on the periodic table.
Leading the charge, the UK has discovered 24 elements, closely followed by the US with 21, Sweden with 20 and Germany with 19.
A number of old favorites including gold, mercury and copper are listed as “ancient discovery” and don’t have a country of origin.

And besides, I always sensed the Periodic Table was racist; I just didn’t know why. Now I know.
In other words, without Dead White European Men (and some few women, I guess) the world would be not even half as advanced as it is.
As a girl I didn't grasp the genius of the Periodic Table until I read a science fiction story about it. It concerned an Earth exploration group that had landed on once-inhabited planet but could make no sense of the language or culture of the long-dead creatures. Then a young woman with the exploration team recognizes the Periodic Table, which becomes a Rosetta Stone for them. The point was that the table was not merely our convenience but a universal truth. I wish I could remember the name or author of the story, but it was many years ago.
Lets be more specific. How many were discovered by women or diversity types?

I know this because my ship played the hell outta that film on my last deployment (a 9-month deployment that ended two weeks ago).

White European countries are on the list because 300 millenia ago modern man walked out of africa and left the stupid behind.
Egypt was conquered by black Nubians who ruled for about 200 years before the Egyptians overthrew them. There were black rulers of Egypt but that was long after the pyramids were built.
Curie’s discoveries should be with tallied with Poland, not France.
They left out “Upsidasium” which was discovered on Mt. Flatten and tested at No Bikini Atoll.
That is because the western world set up universities already at the end of the middle ages. They grew out of monasteries.
