Notorious DUer Will Pitt Turns Angrily Against Obamacare
NewsBusters ^ | March 19, 2014 | P.J. Gladnick

Harry Reid is going to have a hard time portraying Will as a Koch brothers shill...

William Rivers Pitt, a leftwing editor at TruthOut,  whose foibles have been chronicled in NewsBusters and is probably best known for his journalism "scoop" of predicting the indictment of Karl Rove on May 12, 2006, is back in the spotlight again. While waiting 24 business hours to elapse for the Rove indictment to finally take place, Pitt shocked many at the Democratic Underground by posting an extremely angry attack, What I've learned about the Affordable Care Act, upon Obamacare due to a bad personal experience with it. In order to fully appreciate how far Pitt has turned against Obamacare, we need to go to his DU post back in December when he was proclaiming his love for Obama's signature plan...before he even experienced it:

He’s learned that the insurance companies are Obama’s cronies.

——Liberals are really just not very bright people-—

Well perhaps not all of them.

Kirsten Powers had a come to Jesus ephinany when her insurance was cancelled and she had to fight on the government exchange. She told us all about it from her seat on Bret’s panel. She was billed as a Daily Beast type.

She is now billed as a contributor to USA Today. She had to get a real job at a real company to get insurance worth a damn

Imagine a doctors office on every street corner.

And each family pays a subscription of $1000 a year for single or $2000 for family

You also pay a per visit fee of something minimal (like $10) just to keep everyone from going there every day to chit chat with the doctor (hey it’s free!)

With a mere 100 families he is making a decent living. and this is just for your daily health needs, 99% of all health care.

Then for catatrophic problems (broken leg, heart attack, etc) you have major medical insurance for about the same price.

And you get to deduct any medical cost from your income, for income tax purposes.

Loser Pays, for malpractrice cases. (cuts 99% of malpractice litigation, i bet)

This covers everyone, keeps the LAWYERS out of it, AND the government and the costs would drop dramatically (most overhead is paperwork)

Comapnies that make drugs, do THEIR OWN testing. The government only verifies that they have done the testing and it is peer reviewed for thoroughness. Companies that fail to do so would then be criminally liable. And for somethign thjat does not show up 40 years from now, hey... nothign is perfect. You gotta know that going in.

Now that Ihave solve health care... what’s next?

No. In fact if anything, the person I forgave (who didn’t ask forgiveness from me) is treating me now with less condescension. I didn’t tell her I forgave her, and I haven’t forgiven her for what she did for me. I have simply forgiven her for not asking to forgive her. That has resolved the injustice for me, and that is what I was talking about doing, to be clear.

“have recently discovered (in real life mind you) that it is quite useful to “forgive” even those who don’t ask for forgiveness.

Two reasons: one, it liberates one from the cancerous contempt (not to mention hate) that is inevitably associated with unresolved conflict. Anyone who insists, “it doesn’t bother me” is lying.

Two, it’s ok to say to yourself, “I forgive this person, first for not asking forgiveness from me”, because that (not asking for forgiveness from someone you wronged) too is a sin against God and you. So it’s not being unjust or uncharitable, to indeed forgive someone who hasn’t asked you for forgiveness. In fact it’s both charitable and just.”

Best post ever.

Great advice. Many, many thanks.

We should be more charitable to folks that finally see what’s going on:

Both parties are playing us against each other.

I read the ENTIRE 9300 post thread, and I have to say the conclusion I came to is that they no longer believe government is a force for good anymore.

Now, this is pretty important, since most liberals come at their liberalism not as a ‘mental disorder’, but out of a belief that government, especially the United States of America style government, is a force for good, even if it screws up every once in a while.

Conservatives have seen enough to know that government, no matter how well intentioned, can’t be a force for good. It’s not set up that way. It takes from everyone, and hands back less than what you gave in the first place, and nobody is happy.

When you complain, complaining becomes illegal, and you arrive at the bottom of the valley where all government ends up over the last 7,000 years.

As such, with guys like Will - the zealots - when they finally wake up, it’s important to point out that everybody wants to believe you can pitch in and make the world a better place. As soon as you give the people running the show virtually unlimited and unilateral power to decide what ‘better’ means, it goes aglee.

It’s fun to point and laugh, but how many RINOs end up doing that to us a couple of days after the election is over?

Appropriators. That’s the only party in DC. Will found that out the hard way. He’ll blame insurance companies, but if there wasn’t something at the end of the rainbow for his progressive friends in DC, they would have voted differently, on a better plan, crafted out in the open, and available for a time in order for people on both sides of the argument to have a debate.

They had both houses and the exec branch, and this didn’t happen.

Ehhh, I haven’t read any 9300 post thread and don’t plan to.

Correct me if I am wrong, please. Mr. Pitt arrived at this condition of elightenment ONLY after HE HIMSELF had a poopy-pants experience. True?

So no amount of “anecdote” or “media report” or “personal attestation” about those who have been losing their insurance, their doctors, while seeing their premiums jacked up uncontrollably with more promised for next year, none of this dissuaded him from his altrusitic position of recommending and advocating this great system for everyone. All of those effects and consequences having been predicted in sordid detail by the people he hates and thinks are neanderthal stupid while the people who thought it was God’s gift to man thought it was magnificent.

Let me clue you into something: He STILL hates Conservatives. He STILL hates people who wish to adhere to the Constitution. And he STILL will vote for a steaming pile of dogturds as long as they have a D next to their name and a proven record of voting for liberal causes. It’s not that gov’t is such a bad thing especially when it controls everything, it’s that the right people weren’t in charge. Right? Pol Pot, Mao, and Stalin somehow came up just a little bit short.

Zealots make the best converts. I’m not saying he’s a new man, but he’s going to look at everything with a fresh perspective.

The arguments in thread were interesting. There are the morons there that believes good pharmaceuticals grow on trees, and that doctors should work for free.

However, there were those that realized that even in a world where government made all the drugs, there likely wouldn’t be treatments for many things, if not anything.

I’m very glad it was there idiot that did this to us, and not our own idiot. (Romney)

Funny thing about Romneycare on the thread too - they admit that he did his best to kill the thing, and apparently Romney bristles when anyone uses the word ‘Romneycare’.

He signed the thing into law, so now he owns it.

You can’t get a little bit pregnant.

Well as they often say... a conservative is a liberal mugged by reality

If the Presidential election were held today, Mr. Pitt and his ilk would again pull the lever for Baraq Obama, perfectly illustrating their incapacity for reason and critical thought.
