Wyoming welder faces $75,000 a day in EPA fines for building pond on his property

All Andy Johnson wanted to do was build a stock pond on his sprawling eight-acre Wyoming farm. He and his wife Katie spent hours constructing it, filling it with crystal-clear water, and bringing in brook and brown trout, ducks and geese. It was a place where his horses could drink and graze, and a private playground for his three children.

But instead of enjoying the fruits of his labor, the Wyoming welder says he was harangued by the federal government, stuck in what he calls a petty power play by the Environmental Protection Agency. He claims the agency is now threatening him with civil and criminal penalties – including the threat of a $75,000-a-day fine.

“I have not paid them a dime nor will I,” a defiant Johnson told FoxNews.com. “I will go bankrupt if I have to fighting it. My wife and I built [the pond] together. We put our blood, sweat and tears into it. It was our dream.”

But Johnson may be in for a rude awakening.

I’d soak it down good with gasoline and set it on fire.

After a few days I’d fill it in with dirt or concrete. All of this would be recorded, and I’d send it to the EPA bureaucrats that have been giving me trouble.

A photo my congressman posted to twitter a few days ago. That's less than 3 total years worth of new federal regulations.

I bet the nearest EPA building suddenly finds itself surrounded by a “duck” pond.

“on his property”

Silly man for thinking that he actually owns something! Under the new world order “private property” is what you pay taxes on, and insurance, and you can get sued for, and where you get to shovel the snow and cut the grass.

Communism seeks to confiscate all private property. The fascists haven’t been able to take it all, just yet, but they’re working on it, a little at a time.

Private property and freedom of speech are just two modern-day illusions.

“...his sprawling eight-acre Wyoming farm.”

They must have a different definition of ‘sprawling’ than I do, and eight acres ain’t it!

EPa asses strike again. If anyone is acquainted with an EPA employee, give them the what for and, then, shun them.

If it is acre farm, he must not have a pond, but a puddle.

I have an eight acre farm with (when there isn’t a drought) 1 acre pond. Neither is “sprawling.” I couldn’t so much as dig a pit toilet without checking with the county to find out whether I was allowed to do so. (actually the answer is a resounding NO). And I also know that if you allow stock to use the pond, you and your kids don’t want to. yuk.
