A Missouri grade school coach has been charged in the murder and kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl whose suspected body was found in his basement with what police said was a gunshot wound to the head.
Craig Wood, a football coach and teacher's aide at Springfield's Pleasant View K-8 School, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder in the death of Hailey Owens, whose body police believe was found in a storage bin.
The little girl was last seen walking just a block from her home at 4:48 p.m. Tuesday when a terrified couple called 911 to report her seen being swept up by a man in a prowling pickup truck.
Michelle Edwards, who witnessed the attack with her husband, told police that the man driving the vehicle — with long grey hair — pulled over to her and asked for directions, calling, “Hey, come here a minute,” according to the felony probable cause statement.
Edwards said when the child ignored his attempt Wood got out of his car and threw her into his vehicle "like a rag doll."

The article was written between the time the body was found and when it was identified.
I clicked through and read the article. The last bit was kind of horrifying. The perp’s dad was saying what a tragedy it was for HIM (his son). No mention of the dead kid.

If anything, we should hire more males with actual work/industry experience to teach. The whole education industry is way too feminized, and requiring an education degree before you can enter a classroom? What kind of malarkey is that?
Now that we’ve thoroughly hijacked this thread, let’s get back to the topic at hand. This guy (should he be proven guilty in a court of law) deserves to fry. I’m all for Christ’s mercy, BTW, and hope repentant sinners, including murderers, get mercy. I just think murderers should be sent posthaste to Christ.

Due process is something that protects all of us from government tyranny and the Pol Pot style of government. Advocating bypassing it even in an extreme case is beyond foolish and downright stupid. And much as I hate to say it if you think that due process should be eliminated, then by definition you’re a dangerous fool.

I agree, and we can thank the left (again) for screwing things up. They always appear far, far more concerned about the murderers than the people they murder. The victims don’t get to tell us how they feel.
I don’t think the state should attempt to torture murderers, but killing a murderer is probably always cruel to that person. Getting strung up, I’m sure, is not a pleasant experience. Nevertheless, killing a murderer is not an unusual punishment. It’s totally justified and the ONLY punishment that makes sense for certain heinous crimes.
I also think criminals should be given reasonable time, like one year, to explore the appeal process, but this 10, 20 or 30 years on death row stuff? That’s totally unjust!
In regards to death by injection, I don’t know what the big deal is. I’ve had pets put down by vets. It’s a quick and apparently painless experience. Let me guess? We can’t use drugs that aren’t FDA approved for human use to execute someone. If it’s humane enough for animals, it’s humane enough for a child-murdering nut job.
