Unless the GOP starts winning what were called Reagan Democrats we seem to be screwed. The problem is the GOPe pay masters will not allow the populist reform agenda needed to appeal to those people.

Unless the GOP starts winning what were called Reagan Democrats we seem to be screwed.

The solution to that is "quit giving the Chamber of Commerce everything on their wish list, whether it's in the aggregate good for the country or not".

Start with Amnesty. Then take a look at how big banks are permitted to pick people's pockets.

The fact that the GOP ALWAYS comes down on the side of big business seems to REALLY turn-off Reagan Democrat types IMO.

Even Reagan sent some Savings and Loan perps to jail.

I don’t see why I should accept tyranny just because a bunch of Mexicans in Georgia vote for it. We need to change the focus. Regardless of elections, are we going to be free or not. Our freedom isn’t a product of representative government formed by free elections. That’s not freedom, that’s majority rule. Our freedom is handed down from God and not subservient to the opinions of the a majority consisting of stupid people.

So when do we declare ourselves free in recognition of God’s natural order outlined in the Constitution? That done, any attempt to reign us in by courts, magistrates, and the majority will be an attack on our persons and subject to the natural laws of self defense.

When politicians have deviated from the Constitution or chamged the original blueprint for the Republic as drawn up by the Founding Fathers there have almost always been unforeseen and unwanted consequences.

The Founders were wise enough to exclude from voting people who have nothing invested in their community or the nation itself.

Now we have a majority, or near majority, of the people who live by sucking the teat of government. These people will always vote for the most unscrupulous politicans who promise them the most free stuff.

The only way to begin restoration of sanity and honesty in the electoral system is to deny voting privleges to anyone who lives on government handouts, such as welfare, that they have not contributed to or earned.

Georgia -- along with most of the former Confederate states -- were heavily Democratic states for decades. The Republican trend was only a recent phenomenon, as the Democrats became more and more of a political party of freaks.

It wouldn't take much to turn these states back to "Blue," considering the racial/ethnic makeup of their populations. A lot of folks who aren't familiar with the South don't realize how large the black population is down there. And that's a group that would cast 90% of its vote even for a white Democratic candidate with a KKK past.

The only real answer to this is to stop voter fraud. If anyone believes Dems are really winning all these states when a good portion of those Mexicans are illegal and not supposed to be voting at all, well...

Sorry the Kos is confused and does NOT understand Georgia politics. His analysis is wishful thinking.

the thing that will be most interesting will be the governor’s race.

Georgia is working hard to be the first state to pass the Convention of States application.

The House Judiciary Committee and the House Rules Committee have passed the Convention of States application.

Georgia delegates decided to move the resolution to the House floor right away.
The Georgia House will be voting on the COS application today!

The slight violet hue you are imagining over Georgia is because the last two Presidential candidates were not nearly Conservative enough for Red Georgia voters, so the Conservative voters stayed home, while the “blue” vote turned out in force for Obama.

Does anyone remember when “latino” was just another way of saying illegal alien or gang member youths?

Legitimate cultural discussions used the term “Hispanic”.

I don't think there are Reagan Democrats anymore. As the Democrat party has moved further and further to the left, those Reagan Democrats have either become Republicans or forsaken both parties altogether.
