President Obama says he supports gay college football player Michael Sam. While being interviewed by retired NBA player Charles Barkley, Obama spoke about how other athletes have put their careers on the line in order for others to get ahead. Anthony Mason reports.

I think America’s stronger when it is actually stronger. Making people dependent on the federal government, does not make our country stronger. Creating conditions of low taxation, limited government and encouraging self-sufficiency and independence make a people stronger. Having a strong, well-regulated military force and having the will to use it properly and decisively also promotes national strength. Back-stabbing long-time allies and being indecisive in international relations ,like this administration has been, makes a country weaker. So, I am saying that we need a competent president. For that matter, we need a reawakening of our people. We must find the inner strength to fix our personal and national problems before they do us in.
