However, not long after she became pregnant in late 2011, she explained that she experienced hostility from management.  She said she felt like she was a “nuisance” to them.

Well, guess what there mommy. You WERE a nuisance.

Now you know you’re not supposed to get that breast milk all over the evidence —especially the drugs.

"Jumping out of your car and chasing somebody. Or going on a 14-mile hike,”

Things I doubt a doctor would recommend for a pregnant or new mother. Being pregnant made her unqualified for the duties of her job. I can see both sides of the argument but, ultimately, she wasn't in condition to do the work the government hired her to do so either she should have taken leave or quit the job.

I’m a nursing mother, and this twit is nuts! Orders from her doc? Take medical leave then!

Well, I hope she’s on the ‘correct’ side of the border when she delivers.

I agree. What man ever gets special consideration like this which hampers the mission of the team? Some women want it all, but just like men, they can’t have it all (unless their co-workers are forced to pick up their slack).

Now that you mention it, what do Border Patrol Officers do now? I know at one time they were there to catch illegal aliens and send them back across the border, but in the Obama "undocumented resident" era, what are they doing? They can't send them back.

Oh, I know. They're the "Undocumented Resident" outreach program. They must make sure that these undocumented residents get their welcome packages, with their food stamp card and their guide to government benefits.

Cruz’s doctor also told the agency, repeatedly, that she should work light duty, avoid altercations and night shifts.

IOW, get special treatment but still get paid the same as the men who are putting themselves out there.

Here’s an idea: Stay home and be a mother. Your children need you.

The Border Patrol fired her in April for failing and refusing to take a test to keep her firearms certification current.

How active was she in assuring her 'standards' in this regard. Refusing? Maybe more telling than it seems.

>> she simply wanted to pump and store her breast milk at work.

This is not complicated and shouldn’t be a problem. I suspect other factors are driving her employment problems.

now now...

wait just a minute...

company WRITTEN policy was to provide a place, and facilities, to extract and store tittie milk..

this particular office and it’s charge, refused to follow company policy, and then harassed the individual that wanted nothing more than the leadership to adhere to WRITTEN policy...

sounds like a slam dunk for the lactating mom, and it damn well should be..

if your company does not want to enforce a policy, then do not offer said policy..

simple, and really not very complicated..

Agent Cruz, there’s a reason that, simultaneously, the funniest and most frightening words in the English language are: “Hi, I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.”

Saying you want reasonable break time and facilities to pump breast milk is one thing. Saying you want/need extended if not semi-permanent desk duty is another thing entirely.
