But this is good news isn’t it? According to Democrats at least. Now all these employees can be free from the drudgery of work. They can stay home and sit on their butts and enjoy life.

I miss Hechts.
They replaced it with Macy’s here in Malls that survived.
Macy’s is way overpriced.

Several thousand employees who voted for King Obama will no longer have to endure the daily agony of Job-Lock.
I do have empathy for the innocent people losing their jobs and who did not vote for the King.

People are broke, or afraid and conserving discretionary dollars.
The actual unemployment is around 18%.
What’s the mystery?

They need to keep current. Those aren’t eliminated jobs, those are liberated workers.

hundreds of millions of dollars in sales tax revenue will disappear. Bull. This assumes that people will just stop buying clothes and food and appliances simply because a store near them closes.

And what are these chains doing to try and right their positions and return to health?
LOBBYING FOR AN INTERNET SALES TAX ON THEIR ONLINE COMPETITORS!
Oy Vey!

You don’t need a weatherman to see which way the wind blows. Food prices are rising, energy prices are rising, health care prices are rising... What is left for discretionary spending?
Reminds me of the Oprah segment from Copenhagen. Oprah visited an upper middle class family’s small apartment and asked ‘Where do you keep your stuff?’ They answered, “What stuff?”
Democratic Social Economic Populism here we come.

No new indoor shopping malls have been built in the United States since 2006, real estate executive Rick Caruso told CNBC. Wow.
So whats causing the retail apocalypse? Different analysts have different answers. Motley Fool writer John Maxfield blames Amazon.com and other online retailers. Maxfield notes that online retailers have lower overhead and often can offer better prices.
amazon and Walmart will be the last two standing. Once they've eliminated all (or most) of the competition, they will raise their prices and increase their profitability.

The retail mentality of the chains brought it upon themselves. Why should I go to the mall for mass-produced merchandise that’s all the same when Amazon offers a sales platform for more individualistic smaller retailers?

The people who used to shop at these stores had their well paying jobs moved to Red China and other Third-world hell pits by Free Traitors. Now instead of shopping at Middle-class stores these same people shop, when they can, at Walmart and dollar stores.
Free Traitors have ruined this country. There will be a reckoning.
