One of the biggest obstacles we face is the one of trust, Boehner, R-Ohio, told reporters at a news conference Thursday. Theres widespread doubt about whether this administration can be trusted to enforce our laws and its going to be difficult to move any immigration legislation until that changes.
Illustrating that distrust, Boehner pointed to Obamas unilateral moves to change the timeline for implementing the new health care law and the presidents widely publicized intent to circumvent Congress on several other issues through executive orders.
I never underestimated the difficulty in moving forward this year [on immigration reform] and the reason I said that we need a step-by-step common-sense approach to this is that so we can build trust with the American people that were doing this the right way, Boehner said. Now hes running around the country telling everyone that hes going to keep acting on his own, keeps talking about his phone and his pen. And hes feeding more distrust about whether hes committed to the rule of law.

Excellent. In crushing Obama, he forces every Democrat to run from him, thereby diminishing Obama’s power to mess anything up anymore.
Now, every GOP Senate candidate must simply tag their opponent as a supporter of Obamacare, plus some appropriate local issue and voila - Majority, baby!
Sealing the border is a nonsense position. It cannot be done without lowering American liberty. No thanks.
Instead, attack the welfare state. Stop giving welfare to illegals. Don’t give them driver’s licenses and go after states, like Illinois, in which a citizen has a harder time getting a driver’s license than an illegal.
If you’re worried about terrorism start at the DMV. Enact English only as the language of government and withhold funds from those states or localities that refuse to change. Let them spend their own money on their fancies.
Do all that and illegals self-deport.
Truth! I don’t trust Boehner and he needs to go.
Hey Boner. Nobody trusts YOU, either. Two faced RINO quisling.
He has already circumvented congress on the current immigration laws. It is not just about his lawlessness on 0bamacare.
None of the dems. can be trusted and there is only a handful of Republicans right now we can trust. Hopefully after Nov. there will be a few more.
The Orange Sob Queen needs to go away and take his amnesty treason dreams with him.
The Republican Establishment attacks Obama and gets us stirred up to divert attention from their actions like the Murray-Ryan budget deal in December that created new taxes and cut military pensions.
Both parties are governing as one as we see in that deal and when the political timing is right Obama and Boehner will cut a deal to “reform immigration” and open up the doors to cheap labor and incrementally move us towards full citizenship for those who have entered the country illegally.
uhhhh.....didn’t we trust Boehner not to allow anything to go to a vote without a majority of Republicans supporting it?
Don’t be fooled by the phony emotional debate dished up to the media and beaten to death on the cable news shows.
They know what they are doing in Washington, look at the constant increasing of the debt ceiling, the Murray-Ryan budget deal and Boehner’s imperfect budget deal at the beginning of last year to bring the Social Security tax back up and impose sequester cuts.
THE MAJOR POLITICAL PARTIES ARE GOVERNING AS ONE.....
And, hey! It’s Friday. Martini time!
Boner didn’t get a clue until it looked like his speakership was going to get voted on if he kept yapping about amnesty. That was enough to bring a tear to his eye and a quiver to his lip——and a slight pick-me-up to his butt.
The House currently has somewhere around 170 bills sent to the Senate and sitting on Harry’s lap. Harry might not send any of them any further but it makes me wonder what made Boner think that the Kenyan would actually act on ANY of those bills, should they get passed by the Senate? It seems to me it’s all cop-out if the House doesn’t keep passing bills for things that MUST be done-——like sealing the southern border-—for instance. The House could get off its collective butt and send over Articles of Impeachment for the Kenyan if they actually wanted to look productive?
If the imposter wasn’t so blatant about his total disregard for the law, boehner wouldn’t have a problem at all with stuffing amnesty down our throats, just like the socialized medicine bill. The imposter and boehner are two sides of the same coin.
Thanks EBH.
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...[Posted on 04/21/2013 1:52:42 PM PDT by SoConPubbie]
>> About time there Mr. Speaker.
Boehner is deflecting.
