Nanny State PING!
The government mandated the food pyramid as the basis for school meals. Putting the fox in charge of the hen house is not a solution.
Really? I thought it was fueled by a lack of character. Probably need regulations for that, too. :)
Pa-leeeezzzzzzeeee!
This is all such nonsense.
Just what we need, more damned regulations.
P*ss off!
People should be required to have a license for that - and background checks before purchasing a burger. Rember that people don’t kill people - burgers do!
Brawndo, Plants love it!
Totalitarians want to control what you eat.
Sounds like the perfect job for Michael Bloomberg, now that he’s out of work—Fast Food Czar.
it is surprising that this hasn’t yet been resolved in what remains of our “free market economy”
every time a fast food outfit adds a healthier item to its menu, it seems to taste awful
(and almost nobody keeps buying it).
I really do believe they COULD offer some healtier items (at least give you some options instead of those terrible white bread buns! and cut down on the chemical overload that seems to be in some fast food these days? and reduce the grease)...just those 3 small steps would make for some healthier products),..,.maybe not strictly 100 percent “Health Food” but still a few items that are better for us.....and taste good ........? A whole lot of us would buy such items if they would only put them on offer...
again, in the free market.
Govern yourself, or someone will govern you for you...
Another Nanny State Liberal Luddite faculty lounger bleats out!
Great. More intrusive govt ALWAYS fixes everything. NOT! Fookin’ idgits.
“People eating too much and not exercising enough is fueling obesity epidemic”, WayneS says...
Maybe they should switch all fast food restaurants over to government-owned “Carl’s Jr.” franchises.
In prosperous times all except the very poor get fat, in lean times everyone gets skinny except the prosperous.
We live in unusual times where the prosperous get skinny and the poor get fat, on someone elses dime.
Everyone knows junk food is bad for us. The real problem is that the “healthy” food that the goverment guidelines tell us we should be eating instead are just as bad. So when people decide they want to healthy and try the low-fat, high-carb crap that is supposed to be good for them, they don’t feel any better. It’s no wonder that they give up and go back to eating junk.
What we need to do is either to fix the guidelines, get the government out of the business of making dietary recommendations, or just stop paying attention.
My money is on option #3. And given the rapid growth of the real-food, low-carb, paleo food movement, I’m not alone.
What are folks going to much on after smoking all that legalized pot? It’s a crazy world.
Wow so much for personal responsibility. Replace fast food and obesity with , sugar, alcohol, recreational drugs, trans fat, cigarettes, you pick your favorite and you too can be the author of this garbage.
