In a brief to be filed with the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday, 19 Democratic senators are siding with the Obama administration against evangelical Christian businessmen who argue that paying for their employees birth control, a requirement under Obamacare, violates their companys religious freedom.
The senatorsfive of them womenargue in their friend of the court brief that the owners of the Oklahoma-based crafts store chain Hobby Lobby are not exempt from the Affordable Care Acts contraceptive mandate simply because some forms of birth control offend their religious beliefs.
Hobby Lobbys owners, David Green and his family, are suing the federal government over the mandate, which says large employers insurance plans must offer birth control without co-pays or else face steep fines.
A lower court upheld the Greens case, ruling that the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) protects the Greens from having to adjust their insurance plans to cover contraception for their 13,000 employees. (RFRA says the government must have a compelling reason to infringe upon an individuals religious beliefs, and that laws that do so must be narrowly tailored.)
The case is novel because religious freedom, enshrined in the First Amendment, typically has been thought to apply to individuals, churches and other religious nonprofitsnot corporations. But the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, siding with Hobby Lobby, said the Supreme Courts Citizens United decision in 2010 , which upheld a free-speech right for corporations, conferred a right to religious expression on businesses.

These Marxist senators are starting with the first step. Communist always start with the demonization of the opposition. The use of the media, and state owned organs of communication, for language manipulation is at work in this process. The call it the Republican’s “war on women.” As George Orwell said, when you control peoples language, you control how they think - and ultimately how they behave. Through language manipulation, the opposition has no legitimacythey are the kulakand, whatever they say, is to be disregarded.
This dehumanization is done to manipulate the public into acceptance of the next step: The declaring of the opposition to be criminal. This is where the perversion of the justice system comes into play. Through the manipulation of the IRS and other government entities, official force is used to exclude the opposition from society. Exclusion leads to extermination. And, as we see politicians in America demanding more power and less accountability or consequence, we will find our nation participating in the legacy of Communism: gulags and even execution.
Bobby Casey (D-PA) didn’t sign it. Interesting.
Will he be in a close race this November?
There are some Catholics in that group of demented fools, what say you Catholic Church?
I knew I could count on my atrocious senator, Comrade Sherrod Brown. I must thank the Walking Dead in Ohio.

WHY would all parties agree to a negative opinion ?
It’s called collusive litigation and it happens a LOT.
In this case, however, because they are members of Congress, it is likely they asked only the court for leave to file the brief, not Hobby Lobby.
The senators involved were perverted before Hobby Lobby filed suit.
They don’t fail me.
The dross is separating from the gold.
“Why should the nations rage and plot a vain thing?” ... “God laughs from heaven at them.”
Hobby Lobby might or might not “win” on their face but they are right to stick up for what’s right.
If the courts fail this test, that isn’t the failure of God. It’s the failure of what We The People set up and got sloppy about because we got sloppy about God. It’s a lesson in consequences. It’s also a lesson in necessary focus.
If Hobby Lobby transformed into a Gospel Lobby I would smile. And so would God.
And the people who elected the senators...?
We have to get God to fill the holes in our own righteousness before we can fix others. We can’t just damn all to hell unless damning all to hell is the result we really want. (That would leave God with a “damned” poor witness, though.)
If they had an ounce of integrity, Bart Stupak and the gang of 17 would file a brief of their own ....
