PROPOSED MISSION STATEMENT, AMERICAN SPRING 2014 (MARCH ON WASHINGTON)

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didnt pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free. As we, the American people, see our rights diminishing and our Constitution violated daily, we have become alarmed. We will fight to preserve our freedoms, as Ronald Reagan warned us to do lest we lose the country we know and love.
Here are our demands:
- OBAMACARE MUST BE OVERTURNED. This unworkable system will destroy medical freedom, and will affect every area of our lives. Medical information in the hands of the Federal or State government will be abused, used to deny us other rights, or used to control us. The costs of Obamacare are so onerous as to deprive us of our financial freedom at the most perilous point in our lives. Obamacare takes away our personal, private decisions, and puts that control in the hands of a government bureaucrat. The Obamacare bill was passed on many lies, and now those lies have been revealed.
- THE NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY MUST STOP MASS-COLLECTION OF AMERICAN CITIZEN ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS. Not even George Orwell, who wrote the horrifying novel 1984, envisioned a world in which every communication was monitored and stored for later use. This information can be used to blackmail, to determine political leanings, and ultimately to imprison or otherwise deny guaranteed rights.
- AMNESTY FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS MUST NOT BE GRANTED. When foreigners come into our country, illegally and with no respect for the rule of law, our laws are diminished. Our culture is diminished. Our individual votes are watered down. Voters become disenfranchised. There is already a viable system to become a legitimate US citizen. Our immigration system is not broken it is not being given a chance to work. Most of our distant relatives did things by the law and correctly. These people can too. NO AMNESTY.
- CALL OFF THE REGULATORY AGENCIES. Like petty little tyrants, hordes of bureaucrats are swarming across America, making it harder to keep a company in business. The economy is suffering under the incredible burden of over 13,000 new regulations since Obama took office. Jobs are not being created, jobs are being lost to other nations who have no such obstacles to succeeding. If we are ever to turn this economy around, we must control these regulating agencies (such as the Environmental Protection Agency) before they choke the very life out of the nation and the nations economic engine.

Good job. The mission is plainly and succinctly stated. Going for limited objectives prevents, as conservatives are want to do, running off in all directions at once chasing the personal grails.Agreed. Brevity in print, and scope-control, are key to being successful here.

Absolutely. And in reality, I think we can make an appeal to more libertarian-minded young people to start opposing Big Government, and gradually convince them that they should be looking to the right for real change.Exactly.

Good suggestion for a theme/title for this event. It should resonate well with your average American. Polls show that most people feel the govenment is way too big.To put three words on the basic theme of this march, it is "Freedom And Liberty".

Great job, Laz. Hoping the movement catches fire and builds all year. We must repeal ObamaCare and roll back all of Obama’s Marxist/fascist excesses. Time for all tea party and patriotic conservative groups to join together for an American Spring and a long hot Summer. Dump the tea and oust the corrupt statist bastards in the Fall!! Restore the constitutional limits on government!! Restore Liberty!!

I understand that to be the overall theme/objective but...you need something fresh and catchy to energize people.
Consider that the Democrats are very good at branding their campaigns. They seem to be able to define a clever name or phrase for every cause and it serves them well (of course they have the media echo chamber to help them). Even rock bands brand their tours with thematic names to energize their fans.
One way to get more freedom and liberty is to “Downsize DC”.

No date has been set. But Im beginning to think this should not be a single event. It should be a movement. It needs to be many events in many places. We need to put the tea party on steroids. A movement of citizens throughout the USA to restore the constitutional limits on government and reclaim our God-given Liberty!!My response:

Yes, you are correct. The theme of “Freedom and Liberty” might be too cliche and overused. I’m not sure it is “Downsize DC” or not, but it is a contender.

Yes, that was my concern that it might be too overused and lacking the spark that we need to energize/mobilize people. I’m thinking we need something fresh and pithy that looks great on a T-shirt!
