In New York, a bill has been proposed by Democrat Assemblywoman Margaret Markey that would require all public school students to undergo mental health exams, more than once, in order to attend.
Loesch points out how this fits into a larger picture that is forming with Common Core requirements and various state legislatures across the country. Schools are collecting information such as parental political affiliations, firearm ownership, religious affiliations, and other forms of data mining. She also poses the important question of who would pay for this. Is it going to be yet another financial burden for low and middle income families imposed by the busybody state?
Interference in the family unit and absolute disregard for privacy are becoming de rigeur in America on two fronts. We have the safety and security minded, hoping to prevent tragedy though screening, and we have the we know what’s best crowd, creating a better tomorrow by shrinking soda sizes, seizing sodium, and generally aiming to clothe Americans in the bubble wrap of a federal government that’s just “looking out for their best interests.”

The idea of mandatory psychiatric examinations for schoolchildren, or something similar to it, is and was routine in totalitarian regimes like the USSR, and was used as a tool to detect dissidents and dissident families, who would suffer nightmarish consequences.

Suddenly there’s a whole generation of kids with mental health issues/records that follow them into adulthood. Too disturbed to vote, own a gun, have free speech, ....WOW!
By declaring all the students as mentally unstable you can have total gun control plus all kinds of other stuff.

It seems like Roberts' sanctioning of the government's forcing of people to purchase a product has gone to the next step.

Exactly, plus other items that could likely be on the school psychologist's check list. Anything politically incorrect could be cause for the child and/or his parents to undergo "re-education," and if that fails...well, there's always a new FEMA(?) facility not that far away which will provide dissidents with food and shelter, if they're lucky.
It's happened before: think USSR, China, North Korea, Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, etc., etc.
News flash: They give the tests. They determine who is “normal” and who is an insane right wing, gun owning, bitter clinger.

For many,yes. Others are trapped there because they inherited a house that they cannot either sell or want to leave (so it can stay in the family. My friend is in exactly that situation).
However, it looks like the Left “trained” enough low education, no-education, welfare addicts and liberal assholes (not to mention the major number of reds of all types who live and operate there), to get Sandinista marxist supporter DeBlasio elected mayor (his wife is now the City’s First Marxist Lady), and the new head of the City Council is a Puerto Rican marxist woman.
The Nazis had nothing on the Communists. All they did was shout louder, monopolize the mainstream media, and harass or kill their real or imagined opponents.
Reminds me of someone and some Party presently in control of our country, in DC. Can’t think of their names right now but it is in the vicinity of “D” and “O” in the alphabet. It’ll come to me, maybe before they march me off to some “mental health clinic”, just like my relatives in Austria were marched off to a “health facility” named Auschwitz for “showers in the 1940’s.
