It takes a special kind of person to keep pace with the king of conservative talk radio, Rush Limbaugh. Long-time producer James Golden, aka Bo Snerdley, accepted the challenge over 25 years ago, and he hasnt had time to look back since.
The years flew by, Golden told BizPac Review in a candid interview. At the beginning I was real skinny and I had hair, he said.
Despite juggling the duties of producer, researcher and call screener, Golden made the high-stress job sound almost effortless as he described a day in Rushs world.
He and his boss have a similar work ethic and a knack for radio built on decades of experience, Golden revealed (see insight video below).
The golden rules: Work hard, keep up with the news and have patience with people.

I first listened to Rush in 1990 after seeing his show simulcast on C-SPAN’s “Talk Radio Week”. At that time he had not one, but four Snerdley characters.
Bo Snerdley, of course (his “a black man replies to Obama” segments are priceless)
Mario Snerdley, the Italian guy
Mervin Snerdley, the Jewish guy
And Chin-Yang Snerdley, the Asian guy. What became of the other three, I don’t know.
Anyway, El Rushbo doesn’t have a racist trace in him. It’s just that nowadays a “Racist” is defined as someone who is winning an argument with a liberal.
Thank you sir for the post. Amazing interview.
WOAH!!!! Mr. Snerdly has packed on a few lbs.!!!!!! Still a good guy though!
Thanks TOK

“For a white person to see a black person and say “I don’t see you as black, but a person.” is what MLK wanted right?”
Exactly. But if things were done that way; tens of thousands of race baiting poverty pimps would be unemployed. Trillions in wealth transfers would be not needed.
And the horrible thing; many people living desperate poverty riddled lives have lived that way for no reason.
“Its just that nowadays a Racist is defined as someone who is winning an argument with a liberal.”
A racist who is a white person who agrees with MLK’s vision that all humans are treated equally. In other words one who sees blacks as equally capable of achieving; with no special help help needed.
That is racist.
I forgot about the James and Joel show. I loved it!
Did you hear him say he couldn’t tell her what time they get to the office for security reasons?
We really are a bannana republic.
But it is dangerous for James Golden to be getting publicity, because we all know how the slimedia will deal with any blackman who does not stay on the democrips' plantation.
But the exact opposite of the Ir-Reverend Al Sharpton&Jesse Jackson, the Concressional Black Caucus, the NAACP, White Liberals, and last but not least Chris Matthews who resents that God made him a Creepy Old White Man.
I had the pleasure of shaking his hand at the Free Republic Inaugural Ball of 2001.
Glad I clicked on this thread, as I had often wondered about his odd last name, and now I know.
I never knew Snerdly’s real name. :-)

Wow his personality is soo similar to an old co-worker that I really enjoyed. Really brightened up each morning. Humble, intelligent and cheerful.
Rock on James!
I really liked that radio show. It was a favorite and I was sorry when he went off the air.
As far as racism goes-— I have eyes, and when I see a person for the first time, I can see black, white, brown, or yellow, as well as male, female, tall, short, fat, skinny, etc, etc. but when the person starts speaking, that is when I see the real person. It is the inner person that is important, not physical appearances.

There was also a brief interval when Bo Snerdley was working at a satellite or internet radio station, and his stand-in was a female program manager named "Maria Snerdley." I think she ended up getting married to Steve Malzberg, who also had a show on WABC radio at the time.
Nice!
Even better. I always thought Snerdly was imaginary.
I'm pretty sure that Rush has said on more than one occasion that Snerdly's 'interruptions' were merely a theatrical device.
