The mother of Trayvon Martin will participate in a University of Utah public discussion on Jan. 16 during a weeklong celebration of Martin Luther King Jr., KTVX-TV reports.
Sybrina Fulton is scheduled to speak at the university's Union Ballroom for the 30th annual Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This year's theme is "Beneath the Hoodie: A Look at Racial Profiling in America."
Fulton's son, a 17-year-old black Miami high-school student, was fatally shot in February 2012 by George Zimmerman. A jury in Seminole County acquitted Zimmerman in July of murder.
The case stirred a national debate on issues of self-defense, racial justice, gun control and profiling....

I’ve heard MLK was a commie at heart but he wasn’t Sharpton or Jackson. Those 2 are in a class all their own.
someone should bring up the “Knockout Game” and the profiling of Whites and Jews by black youths.
Holder the Ag won’t call it a hate crime. Some people have died from being knocked out others have had brain and hearing damage.
What is she going to say, “He was an unruly black boy, so I let somebody else raise him.”
This lady should be giving seminars in bad parenting.
I think he may actually be coming around after 15 years of living here in God's country (Texas). His daughter is high school cheerleader and goes to a solidly Conservative Christian church. Unlike his clipped New England accent, she speaks with a soft, pleasant Southwestern twang. Thanks to her persuasion, his house now has an American and Texas flag flying by the porch. A few months ago, he was at a high school football game (that alone speaks volumes), he said that he voted for Ted Cruz in the general election because he admired his intellect. Although he still moans about how much better New England is compared to Texas, there's evidence of some headway being made. If his daughter can get him going to church on a regular basis, that died-in-the-wool Yankee may just become a Conservative.
At least THAT would be honest.
University of Utah..formally a Mormon university..
Utah where the state religion is racist...
Have you pinged Colofornian?
I was just thinking, this will probably go over big in Utah NOT.
you just PINGed him for me...
When I was a young college kid from the “more ignorant” parts of the country, I had to go through New York and to do so, I had to catch a cab to get from one bus station to the other to catch my final bus for college. I always tried to get a cab that was driven by an Orthodox Jew, because they were easily recognizable and I figured a person who is serious about worshiping God was not going to cheat or rob me. So yeah, I did racial profiling big time.
The MSM profiled G. Zimmerman as a ‘white’ Hispanic. The first one ever.
(Well, there's a few states -- Utah being one of them -- where there's a sense of a racist hangover...one which many Utahns now regret...and I think some of them feel that by attempting to be "ultra sensitive" to the plight of blacks, that this could somehow...coupled with who knows what...somehow move past their historical baggage...ain't gonna work...and a move in the wrong direction, anyway)
She would be much better suited to speak about:
"Beneath the Hoodie: How not to raise a young man in America."
Maybe someone else will ask her what she thinks might have happened if Trayvon had simply moved on, rather than confronting Zimmerman. But I'm assuming no one will have the cojones to ask THOSE tough questions.
Or as one Freeper said, Trayvon played the knockout game.. came in second.
The hand signer for those who are deaf end speak ebonics will be there. They’re flying him over from Pretoria.
Racial Justice? Justice was served. Trayvon was trying to murder a man and the jury found Zimmerman innocent.
