He’s not wrong!!
Granted — but I was talking about the "if X won" case, which is one reason I rejected Romney:
If Romney had won, then how could I expect his own party to "hold his feet to the fire" when they, as "the opposition party", can't even be bothered to oppose "the other guy"?
The same could be asked of the more dogmatic/rabid Palin supporters: what could she do to earn your criticism/opposition?
We've seen this on "our side" somewhat: Pr. Bush.
For me that criticism/opposition point came when he announced he "had to abandon the principles of the free market to save it" and started really doing bailouts. (I was also opposed to bailing the airlines out immediately after 11 Sep.)
All I know is we’re burning daylight and getting high on rhetoric alone. We have nothing to work with, but for sitting on our haunches at the campfire, measuring our peril and saying, “ain’t it awful”.
The bad guys are raising money hand over fist to shower on Hillary, and another Democrat Lite R Party nominee.
This is a recipe for disaster. Time and money is being squandered. Imho.
I’ll drink to that.
What money is being squandered?
There will be no RNC cash, no Chamber of Commerce cash, no Rove cash for a candidate like Ted Cruz.
TERRIFYING is the perfect word.
Mostly practicing law in Texas. He didn't become a senator until 2012 and has steadfastly opposed Obama since.
own party to "hold his feet to the fire"
Hey, Madison native - me too. I got knocked from my bunkbed by the Sterling Hall bomb when I was 10 years old. And you’re 100% right - these ARE the same commies.
What is hideous is that our military isn’t as dedicated as the Egyptian Army in taking out the trash.
To quote some smelly marxist: Burn, Baby, Burn!
Cruz
Family name
Cruz is a surname of Iberian origin, first found in Castile, Spain. It means cross, either the figure or a cross of lines or ways in Spanish and Portuguese. In The Philippines the word is rendered to krus, but the Spanish form is used for surnames. The word “Cruz”, as well as “Vera Cruz” (”True Cross”) and “Santa Cruz” (”Holy Cross”) are used as surnames and topological names.

I watched most of Cruz’ “filibuster” thinking I’d sensed the guy’s soul, and that any thing that’s fake would have seeped through. But for an evident lapse in his judgment of history in taking-off to that Mandela funeral circus, though a few die-hards still claim he did just to zing Raul Castro.
But barring any further unseemly outbursts, I’ll probably end up voting for the guy as there seems a real dearth of true conservatives out there.
And what will Sarah do? At least Cruz seems clear.
No declaration by CRUZ, or PAUL, means no warchest, yet, for CRUZ or PAUL. Comprende?
Find big money among the Tea Party and I will entertain more peace of mind.
Then I can miss the point too, and discuss the degree of strained collections for the RNC, the Chamber and Rove rubes.
That’s a laugh. They’ve got it and we don’t.
I am talking squandered time and money without anyone to rally around NOW, and EARLY, to compete against the busy work going on among the deep pockets NOW.
I’ve known that since ‘08.
I will not vote for Paul, even as Veep
It is too early to declare, why give the left so much more time to destroy you?
Fillibustering the Senate, speaking out against Obama's actions nearly on a daily basis, and voting against every lawless act that Obama tries to make law.
Jeepers, sometimes Freepers don't know when they have a friend.
I like CRUZ. If he doesn’t indicate some action to compete with Rand, I will consider Rand Paul, because he has no real use for the R Establishment, but for when he uses them to broaden his own base.
I think Paul is capable of hardball ruthless, and we need some of it.
I’ve often wondered if the next iteration of counter-culture will be young conservatives.
You have nothing to fear from BHO.... The most astounding moment in American politics, ever!
You’re right about early commitment begetting sustained attack, but we need at least enough indication to start raising money and to unify, and to limit jump-in’s, so we aren’t divided 6 ways from Sunday, fracturing again conservative money and unity.
We’re at risk on both fronts, admittedly. But money and unity coming together EARLY is happening in every camp but ours.
