Granted — but I was talking about the "if X won" case, which is one reason I rejected Romney:
If Romney had won, then how could I expect his own party to "hold his feet to the fire" when they, as "the opposition party", can't even be bothered to oppose "the other guy"?
The same could be asked of the more dogmatic/rabid Palin supporters: what could she do to earn your criticism/opposition?
We've seen this on "our side" somewhat: Pr. Bush.
For me that criticism/opposition point came when he announced he "had to abandon the principles of the free market to save it" and started really doing bailouts. (I was also opposed to bailing the airlines out immediately after 11 Sep.)
