Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA), Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH), Chairman of the Economic Growth Subcommittee, sent a harsh letter to Attorney General Holder Wednesday accusing the Department of Justice of abusing its power and intimidating banks through its "Operation Choke Point." In the letter, Issa and Jordan stated, "[t]he [House Oversight and Government Reform] Committee is concerned that both the goal and mechanisms of Operation Choke Point may constitute a serious mismanagement and abuse of the Department´s FIRREA [Financial Institution Reform and Recovery Act of 1989] authority." Well stated indeed. Thanks to you both for trying to enlighten the unenlightened. It’s a tough job getting the truth out, but little by little, one by one we should be able to get them to see there isn’t much more Issa can do until there is a Conservative Senate hopefully in the works this November.
I wonder if Hans Blick is still available?
I wish Issa would stay with one or two investigations and actually finish them.
I second that.
As Mark Steyn recently wrote: there should be a Congressional Oversight Committee to study the ineffectiveness of Congressional Oversight Committees.
Issa, just get the hell off our backs. You are a totally useless piece of dung. What has this jackass done for us yet. Talk, hearings, etc, etc. etc. Getting tired of this fool.
Issa is a joke
Instead of a “strongly worded letter”, he sent a “harsh” letter. I’m impressed! /s
The latest housing fraud wasn’t the first. Remember the Resolution Trust Corporation? S&Ls buying and selling inflated properties back and forth. And McCain was right in the middle of it but was only slapped on the hand. Then Bush 41 formed the RTC and spent billions buying “toxic” properties then sold them at pennies on the dollar. Once again, if you had money, you could snap up some houses pretty cheap. I didn’t have any money.
No, he's NOT above the law ... time will prove that...
Another stern letter. Yep, that’ll work. (/s not needed)
Does 0bama have to give Holder Executive Privilege for every phony scandal? You would think once would cover them all. Issa just can’t take ‘no’ for an answer and that’s clearly racist.
It’s refreshing to see that someone else understands that. Thanks for posting it.
“...sent a harsh letter to Attorney General Holder Wednesday..”
Followed by a “fart in his general direction.”
Sorry but Issa is as unbelievable as Obama. Lots of talk, he “campaigns” against Obama non-stop...and NOT INE THING has resulted from the noise coming from him 25 scandals and no endightments? Issa is hit air.
An absolute BLIZZARD of letters and investigations; not ONE single result.
Daryl Issa demands answers on a lot of things but doesn’t seem to get anywhere on any of them.
“Say it ain’t so!!! Not a harsh letter! Oh please, Gosh, no! Please don’t let it be sternly worded.... “ - CL
if *that* does not work, next it will be...
The COMFY CHAIR!
(This is perhaps one of the saddest things - that our once respectable government has devolved into a comedy skit.)
What can Issa or the committees do when the DOJ and the MSM are in on and covering for all the scandals? This means there is no prosecution and no reporting of the scandals.
Personally, I don’t understand where/how the Senate Harry Reid has so much power as to be able to stop cold any and all investigations, legislation, or contort the House of Representatives procedures to the point as to make the minority party useless.
This has lead to legislation etc. without representation in a Republic and is criminal to the point of treason. And yes, I do think the GOP and Conservative branches are falling into a trap.
I am not seeing how the GOP will be able to govern, legislate, etc. as a Representative government as long as the Democrat party continues down the progressive democracy path. The only path forward is to bring charges against those in the Democrat Party who have willfully worked to subvert the Republic.
As far as Issa is concerned he can catalog the crimes all he wants, but until there is someone with the courage to go after what amounts to be traitors of the Republic, none of this is going to change anytime soon. Elections won’t matter if the traitors are not removed from office and no ...I do not mean voted out of office.
People, the public, uneducated voter needs to see them frog marched out of office, put on trial, and convicted. Sadly I realize this will never happen peacefully.
