Contestant of British reality show "Celebrity Big Brother" ex-heavyweight boxing champ, Evander Holyfield caused an outrage with degrading anti-gay comments and has now been warned by the show makers.
Holyfield in conversation with Luisa Zissman said that being gay was not normal, and that they could be treated by a doctor just like the physically disabled.
"The Bible lets you know, that's wrong, that's right. If you were born and your leg were turned this way, what do you do, you go to the doctor and get it fixed back right... All I'm trying to tell you, you know how handicapped people are born, you can't say because they were born that way,"
The retired boxer's opinion did not go down well with Zissman, who explained that such comparison did not hold valid since "it's not a choice." To this the boxer retorted, "Yes it is a choice, come on, that ain't the way nobody is made."
Soon after, Holyfield was called to the confession room where he was warned and told that his comments were offensive and went against the show's rules. The boxer said he understood the situation but failed to apologize and said that his comments were his personal opinion and was not aimed at anyone.
Reacting to Holyfield's anti-gay comments, English singer Boy Gerorge took to Twitter to express his disgust at the boxer's controversial comments.
"Shame, I had such admiration for Mr Evander Holyfield, he seemed dignified and I was sure he was a cool, smart, giant!"
"I think anyone visiting this country for any reason should be cautioned and forced to swear allegiance to 'Queens & country!!" and added "At customs there should be a huge sign! Welcome to Britain, racism, sexism, homophobia and bad hair are not tolerated!" 5Holyfields' anti-gay comments on 5 January's episode also had him nominated for eviction along with Zissman for failing to execute a task.
SeekAndFind: “The gays will counter by saying that it is NOT an evolutionary dead end because they can use their sperm and egg to reproduce via in-vitro fertilization and surrogate motherhood.”
The homosexuals are wrong. If they only engage in same-sex, mutual masturbation (it cannot be called copulation), they cannot reproduce without using technology. Why? Because the technology is the only way they can overcome their obvious disability. They have to use extraordinary techniques to reproduce. A 100% homosexual/lesbian society would have a very difficult time maintaining its population by in-vitro fertilization which has a much lower success rate than normal, dare I say natural (yes, I do), sexual relations.
I have two questions:
Who?
And....
Who?
I’m sure Holyfield is shaking in his boots.
But...Holyfield CAN’T be wrong, or homophobic, or prejudiced...he’s BLACK! He should be praised for stating the obvious. Being born with an abnormality usually means doctors try to FIX it. Psychiatrists USED to try to fix people with personality disorders. Asylums used to be full of people who were deluded and thought they were someone/something they were not. Now they have a political lobby and society has to be reordered to call the sick ‘normal.’
Shhhhh. We aren’t supposed to mention it, but Special Olympics participants are disabled. Do we honestly think they don’t know they’re disabled? The facts are factual regardless.
If there was an Obese Rights group demanding larger seats in cars, planes, offices, and theaters we would laugh in fact we make them pay for two seats on a plane. If they demanded that we must accept their lifestyle and offer larger drinks and more trans-fats in their food we would laugh in fact New York tried to ban large drinks and we just outlawed trans-fats. An Obese Pride Day or Obese Parades would be mocked. Childrens books celebrating fat parents or making fat heroes would become a joke. How does this happen in our current society that demands fairness?
An overweight person is a sign of wealth in many cultures overweight women were desired as shown in a Rubens or Rembrandt painting. Homosexuality was not celebrated in the past in any culture it existed but was not desired. No one - not Moses, Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad, Aquinas, Gandhi, not the Bible or the Koran or any other sacred text, nor even a single anti-religious secular thinker of the Enlightenment -- ever advocated redefining marriage to include members of the same sex. Beyond this, to now say homosexuality is moral is to say all secular and religious figures in our past were wrong and to proclaim morality is now relative. We are saying in a time of Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus that we have reached an enlightenment no other culture before us ever did - and that we can now proclaim them all wrong. Christians, both black or white, and the Jewish Christ are now bigots who need to be silenced? Does this sound fair?
And how do we know homosexuality is now morally acceptable? - because its not fair? Its not fair if gay couples cant marry? Really? Well know this, fairness to every individual can never be the only question society asks in establishing social policy otherwise we would have dwarfs in the NBA and blind airline pilots. Anytime you have standards you have people who are left out. Thats life and we accept it in all other instances - but not gay marriage because once morality becomes relative, fairness becomes selective. We had a standard throughout history that marriage was between a man and woman a standard in our nations history that Christian values are desirable a standard that we have freedom of speech. Society needs to recognize what it is sacrificing and the destructive effect it will have
Regardless if society calls morality relative it is not.
Pete Burns weighed in on gay marriage in 2008:
Gay marriage does not work - men are just too predatory, says Pete Burns
Captain Obvious?
Nonsense. He's no gay-er than Richard Simmons.
Or Bob Ross, for that matter.
He admitted to having an affair with the Culture Club drummer Moss, who reportedly broke up with his fiance to be with George. In 2008 he declared he was “militantly gay”.
I never noticed Tyson’s commie tattoos before. What an idiot.
I guess Holyfield is no longer entitled to have his own opinion on anything, we must all toe the party line comrades!
Did not go to the original article, but if this is all he said how could anyone in his right mind describe it as “degrading anti-gay comments”? Idiots!
Because gays don’t consider their condition as a handicap or a disability.
Bob Ross? Ross was married twice and had two kids by his first wife and another by his second. Some of them appeared on his show. Doesn’t sound gay to me.
Yes, I realize that, but what is degrading about what he said?
