Duck Hunt: CNN Fabricates New Phil Robertson Controversy
Breitbart's Big Journalism ^ | January 2, 2014 | John Nolte

Posted on 01/02/2014 7:26:59 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Even though CNN's phony controversy hasn't even been able to pick up traction at MSNBC, that hasn't stopped the left-wing cable news network from attempting to manufacture more trouble for Phil Robertson and "Duck Dynasty." But why would we expect anything less from the same network that fabricated evidence to frame a working-class Hispanic man?

The CNN report below, covering Robertson's humorous relaying of marriage advice, is taken ultra-seriously by the CNN correspondent, and asks, "What is the tipping point to getting kicked off the air?"

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Does CNN not hear the crowd laughing? It is obvious that Robertson is going for laughs. That doesn't mean he isn't trying to make a point (his wife was 16 when they married) but there is no question he is performing and exaggerating to entertain a crowd that is entertained.

Good heavens, it is so controversial that a happily married and successful man would suggest others follow his same path!

Glaringly missing from that CNN report is Robertson adding "Check with Mom and Dad about that, of course." "That" being marrying as a teenager.

Another fact CNN leaves out of its hit-piece is that with parental permission, in more than ten states, teenagers as young as 15 can marry.

In the media capitol of the world, New York, teenagers as young as 14 can marry.

In the state of Georgia, where CNN is headquartered, teenagers can marry at 16...

Well that would certainly be the “convenient” thing to do, now wouldn’t it?

CNN might have been relative in the 1980s, but not now.

Not at all. It might be a smart thing to do, it may make no difference, or a dumb thing.

From my viewpoint its a loser, many have to much invested to back down, but I see this as another trap of the Libs that the right seems to gleefully step into..

Reference your FReepmail. Again, another compliment. If it is your intention to insult me, say that I am just like you. That will be the worse insult ever recorded.

Didnt he say something in a different interview about all the blacks he knew back when being happy or some such? I don’t remember the exact wording. I found it a lot more concerning than whatever he said about homosexuality, which I think is probably things a lot of us have thought but didn’t say out loud.
As far as young marriage goes, he may have a point but not for the reasons he thinks. I think that this prolonged childhood complete with 26 year old girls with Hello Kitty backpacks who are still on parents insurance is for the birds.(60 years ago they would have been dressed like grow ups, sans tattoos, carrying diaper bags and getting medical care paid for by a husband whose income could cover it because normal medical costs hadnt spun so out of control.)But it’s so much a part of society and its institutions I dont think we can turn it back.

Let me know when CNN does a story that's critical of laws allowing 14 yr old girls to get abortions without notifying their parents. Or 14 yr olds getting birth control without parental consent. Or PP failing to report statutory rape when they full well know it happened.

The Commie News Network is an enemy of the people.

If you own a computer and have an internet connection you could look up the exact quote before you spread your uninformed misinformation any further.

He was talking about a time when he was younger and also poor, working in the fields right beside the black workers. He never said it did not happen, just that he had not seen any mistreatment personally... (Remember PRE Internet and barely any TV channels) It was his personal experience “what he had seen with his own eyes” that blacks were relatively happy (my interpretation, because even tho they were poor, they felt a great self worth because they were providing for themselves) and most were Godly people before all the government handouts started...

I didnt use the word “racist”. I said concerning. He claims he never saw mistreatment of blacks. I find it a little hard to believe. Not impossible, just a little hard to believe and it makes me question his perception of reality. It doesn’t mean he’s a bad person, just maybe has selective memory. It would be the same if I claimed never to have seen any bigotry toward Indians in the 60s and 70s when I was growing up(Now I’m talking about something I know firsthand.) I didn’t see huge amounts of it, but some.

Thanks. I just looked it up and it was about what I remembered. I certainly wasn’t trying to spread misinformation or whatever. I don’t imagine that anybody who has been following this sorry controversy is unaware of it, and that’s why I didn’t think I had to quote it. I was also aware that he made a good point about the cultural changes(more welfare, less God). Of course as always happens, the MSM mostly chose to miss those good points in favor of the sensational stuff.
I still agree with montanajoe that we may not be doing ourselves any favors by belaboring this.
And as soon as I am done with this thread, I personally am going to avoid these Duck threads at all costs.

Phil likes making fun of liberals too. They have no sense of humor and are extremely thin skinned.

I haven’t watched CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC,since the first term of the Reagan administration.

Are they still on the air???

If so, then that’s news.

No did not think you were trying to spread misinformation... just had to toss in my 2 cents on Phil's “race issue”, and happened to be yours I responded too... Just wanted to point out that these statements were no more racial slurs than the other comments were bigoted or homophobic... I mean, was he not trying to get homosexuals saved too?

After getting slapped down HARD, the left is just digging deep to try to save face and destroy a Christian with a large audience... As for the latest outrage, yeah I agree that taking his words, out of context is something we should probably not try to defend, other than maybe giving them some context...
First they are reporting this as it was something he said after the GQ interview and the video is really from 2009...
Secondly, he is talking to a young man at a young mens retreat... The exact age group, I have not been able to find, BUT, He is not advocating men his age (or even his sons age), go and find a 15 year old to marry...
Lastly with the short piece of out of context video, I am not entirely sure he is not again reflecting on his life and really just talking about how much better off marriage was as an institution when most of the girls were getting married at 15 or 16 years old... I know my grandfather passed away just after his 71st wedding anniversary... and not a large percentage of todays weddings will ever make that mark.

“To them it is also a code word for blacks. Replace the word ‘teenager’ with the word ‘black’ and they would be thoroughly scandalized. Add 40 points to their IQ and they might recognize the use of the term ‘teenager’ in the ordinary sense.”
Most blacks are seldom marrying. They simply procreate to live off the US taxpayers. The words “marry” and “self sufficiency” are the pc codewords that CNN can’t stand.

Choose our battles carefully..and ignore this one

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me--
and there was no one left to speak for me.

MARTIN NIEMÖLLER

I think a better educated decision would be to fight the battle here and now. Cowards can sit back and enjoy the fruits of the labors of others.
