Weekday programming at WABC will include the return of Curtis Sliwas and Ron Kubys show, Curtis and Kuby, from noon to 3 p.m., after an absence of more than six years, and, starting Monday, a one-hour program at 5 p.m. with Pat Kiernan, the NY1 television anchor.
Geraldo Rivera, who joined WABC in early 2012, will turn his focus to New York news in a two-hour live show at 10 a.m., as Cumulus announced in November. Michael Savages syndicated program, which has been heard in the evenings, will now run from 3 to 5 p.m. Imus in the Morning, with Don Imus, will continue from 6 to 10 a.m.

Yes there will be some spring training games and occasional weekday afternoon games (”getaway days”—a series might be Mon and Tue night, then a Wed 1 pm getaway day game before the team flies elsewhere). As far as I know there are no plans to put the Mets games on an FM (or another AM) in these cases. The Yankees have moved to WFAN 660 (were on WCBS 888) and Clear Channel picked up the Mets. WFAN is also on FM.
Sports pre-emptions happen elsewhere too like WVMT 620 in Burlington VT which may pre-empt Rush, etc when the Yankees have a daytime game.
I use to listen to Rush on a Connecticut station back when WABC had the Yankees and there was a day game.
BTW, as a Yankees fan, I used to push my presets often during a game to go back to Rush then back to the game....(my wife took my 4X4 to work because of the snow today...the presets went with her so I cant give you the channel #)
"A mob turncoat publicly apologized to Guardian Angels leader Curtis Sliwa in court Tuesday, before being sentenced for time served.
Joseph (Little Joey) DAngelo, 43, was convicted for driving the stolen taxi that was used in an attempt to kill Sliwa on June 19, 1992. The former Gambino wiseguy then turned on the mob and testified that John Gotti, Jr. put a hit out on Sliwa after the vigilante bathmouthed Gottis father on his radio show.
After three unsuccessful tries at convicting Gotti Junior for the assassination attempt, federal prosecutors dropped the charges against him in 2010."

Savage?
you mean that anti-gun SanFranciscan? another pretender who can GF himself....
I liked the Curtis & Kuby show too; even when they started out in the evening.
I’m bummed about the move since I have an HD Radio and usually listen to WABC on HD2 of WPLJ’s signal on 95.5. WOR has no FM pairing and I have trouble with AM HD channels.
I used to run into Curtis Sliwa in my building in NYC every now and then. The first time I saw him he wasn’t dressed like a Guardian Angel, and I couldn’t believe it was him because he was more well-spoken than he was on the radio. Don’t buy into that Canarsie meathead act ... I overheard him carrying on a conversation with two guys who sounded like they were executives in the radio business, and that guy is very sharp.
“In 1992 Sliwa was kidnapped and shot several times in a stolen taxi being driven by D’Angelo, then a young mob associate whose mentor had been Gambino underboss Salvatore (Sammy Bull) Gravano.
D’Angelo testified the attack was ordered by John A. (Junior) Gotti because Sliwa bad-mouthed his father, John (Dapper Don) Gotti, on the radio.”
That was a shock to me. I hadn’t kept track of her. Found out sometime last year.
I’d forgotten the details of this trial. But I do remember Kuby hi-fiving the Mafia lawyers which caused Curtis to go ballistic and the suits at WABC to have a serious talking-to to Mr. Kuby! Kuby was forced to apologize on air and talk about his psychological problems - which included a diagnosis of “lack of empathy.” Now that I think back on it, it was pretty entertaining!
Well, if he's so capable as you claim, it makes it even worse that he represents the right so poorly on air, coming across as a non-serious jerk as he does much of the time.
But the problem with Curtis and Kuby was that they didn’t bring in the big bucks.
Kuby, communist POS that he is, was a Mob attorney for awhile.
“Kuby, who has represented a number of defendants with organized-crime connections, resents allegations that he is a mob lawyer. Whos killed more people: John Gotti or the Ford Motor Company with their exploding Pintos? he once demanded indignantly.”

This strategy sounds like what goes on in Prov RI:
WPRO 630 Cumulus—local talk. Gene Valicente, John Depetro,
Buddy Cianci, Dan Yorke, Matt Allen
WHJJ 920 Clear Channel—mostly synd; after local with Ron St Pierre, it’s Beck, Rush, Sean, all from CC-Premiere, then
Mark Levin from Cumulus.
KFI (and now WABC) becomes "local talk" . . . .
The "Fairness Doctrine".. it's ba-a-a-a-a-ck only this time it's called "Localism".
There's also the matter of self-imposed "Fairness Doctrine" where owners and hosts actually believe "experts" who say that the public is turned off by political talk and criticism of PRESIDENT! Obama.
I'll add this to my KFI comments. I guess threats against the life of Gov. Palin is a local issue in the eyes of Cumulus (owners of WABC I believe). They are keeping Imus despite this:
Don Imus show Imus behind the scenes the quote may be erased by now. This is a daily log written by his staff about the show and other things.
7:15:18 The Boss reacts to Sarah Palins speech at the Billy Graham Birthday Celebration: Is there any way that she could be put to sleep? If they put a bunch of scientist together to assemble the dumbest person in the world they couldnt make one more stupid than her. An uncharacteristically measured response from the I-Man.
I recall that it was Friday November 8, 2013 show.
"Ah.. it's just Imus being Imus," some explain.
Savage BTW did the first two hours of his New Year's eve show live and asked the opinion of his listeners if he's become too mild or too tame. He says that he's not going to stop going after things political full-bore.
Levin also on Cumulus stations says that no one is going to shut him (Levin) up. Looks like the Dickey brothers' druthers are going to be ignored by Savage and Levin.
I miss Steve Malzberg!!
I was working full-time when Malzberg was on the air. My mother loved him!
