The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), the oldest and largest national organization of tribal governments, along with attorneys representing the Osage Nation and 20 Arizona tribes, met with the White House to discuss the FWS eagle take rules. After the meeting, the NCAI passed a resolution accusing the administration of failing to consult meaningfully with tribes while pursuing a rule to lengthen eagle take permits for wind farms from five to 30 years. The resolution said eagle permits should not be issued without the consent of affected tribes.

Wind farms must be located where the wind blows fairly constantly, and such locations are prime travel routes for migratory birds, including protected species such as bald eagles and golden eagles. Exacerbating the problem, wind farms act as both bait and executionerrodents taking shelter at the base of turbines multiply with the protection from raptors, and their greater numbers then attract more raptors to the turbines.
The 50-square-mile wind farm in Altamont Pass, California, provides the most prominent example of this problem. Despite legally binding agreements to reduce bird kills, the wind farm operators have been unable to end or even slow the increasing amount of kills. The Altamont Pass death toll includes many protected raptors such as golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, American kestrels, and burrowing owls.

Naw, it's really not a difficult choice for them. The eagles don't donate cash to the Democrat party.
I’m not so sure.
Visited an Indian casino lately ?
I prefer to keep my hard earned money rather than give it away.
Owning a fleet of these windmills is hugely profitable. Our government basically underwrites financing and guarantees the sale of energy to the utility at the highest price possible. And, after they're built, owners have little ongoing expense except maintenance. No coal or gas bill to pay.
You'd think with all these benefits, they'd prevent the killing of birds and bats.
My point was, American Indians have been successful at lobbying on other issues.
Can you imagine any private development that would result in eagle deaths ever being allowed to be built? How many private developments at the cost of millions have been stymied because they might even encroach on the habitat of some endangered critter. This is hypocrisy.
The “Crying Indian” (Iron Eyes Cody) was Sicilian.
Didn’t some Indian tribe give Clinton a wad of cash in exchange for expediting approval for a casino?
Didn’t some Indian tribe give Clinton a wad of cash in exchange for expediting approval for a casino?
P.S. And if I remember right, he took the money and stiffed them.
What happens to little baby Eaglets when their parents don't return to the nest with food?
.
It sounds like the liberal equivalent of a religion joke.
The Indians just make it up as they go along. Why....follow the money.
So the gophers are building their dens at the base of the windmills to lure the eagles into the deadly blades. Those smart little sons of .........
“We have a contact at zero five zero. It is positively identified as an eagle.”
“Sound the alarm, but have section 7 remain upright in their holes. We’ll see if we can lure that bast**d into the blades. Tally-Ho!”
No such thing as Native Americans. The DNA tests prove they are Chinese who took a wrong turn on their way to get some General Tso’s Chicken (He outranked Colonel Sanders).
They DIE by STARVATION, just like any other helpless animal baby would.

Sounds a lot like someone selling Air Jordens or giant Flat screens and only have two in stock could also be used against other birds of prey.
One of the Southwestern tribes are allowed to trap immature golden eagles which are then ritually washed & tethered to the roof of their hogan for a certain time period as “watchers” over the sons in the family. These eagles are then ritually smothered to death to go be at one with the Great Spirit for eternity.
Nice work, but not for the eagle. “Eagles for me, but not for thee” means long jail time when the BLM thugs find a paleface in possession of so much as a single eagle feather.
Eagle deaths due to wind farms need to be protested, but not by Indians who slaughter eagles. That’s rank hypocrisy, IMO.
The wind farms owners kick back to the Rats.
Double kudos. For fighting the fight and for calling themselves American Indians.
