Israeli officials reacted with bitter scorn to a Christmas message from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in which he called Jesus a Palestinian and suggested Israel was to blame for the exodus of Christians from the Holy Land.
He should have read the Gospel before uttering such offensive nonsense, but we will forgive him because he doesnt know what hes doing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor told The Times of Israel on Monday. Abbass statement is an outrageous rewriting of Christian history, according to Palmor.
Earlier on Monday, Abbas published a lengthy Christmas greeting, calling Jesus a Palestinian messenger who would become a guiding light for millions around the world. Although he expressed his commitment to the peace negotiations with Israel, he expressed harsh criticism of Israeli policies, including an accusation that Jerusalem is responsible for the plight of Christians in the Holy Land.

Based on what? The descendants of Ham are Biblically recorded as the “swarthy” people. The Messiah was a Semite (of Shem) in all his generations.
Who knew Abbas was a renowned middle east historian...? / S
I wonder if they understand how stupid this makes them look ?
And Palestinians only came into being in 1948 when Jordan no longer wanted them to return.
The Koran justifies anything, in their eyes.
No. Those Arabs never belonged to Jordan to begin with.
The Romans coined the moniker after the Bar Kochba revolt in 132-135 CE. It was the second devastating revolt of Jews in Judea, and the last of a series of revolts by Jews in the Empire. The Romans renamed the province Palestine, coined from the name of Israel’s ancient enemy, the Philistines, and it was intended to be an insult. I still consider the use of the term to be an insult to Jews.
Many modern day Arabs who consider themselves to be Palestinians lay claim to the land by claiming descent from the Philistines.
“I must have missed the part
where he donkey bombed the Temple.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
:)
Of course, the Philistenes were a sea-faring people, probably from Crete -— and also being idiots who destroyed everything, where we get the insult “cretin.”
So maybe . . . .
Palestinian = Phillistinian\.
1 Samuel 17:42
And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.

Palestinians are the descendants of the Philistines/Canaanites.
Well, it was a “mixed multitude” that came out of Eqypt, so there was a bit of everyone from the area.
But if you look at the ancient freezes and whatnot you can easily view in Israel today, the Jewish people looked pretty much like they do today, but slightly less European.
It was like arabs with curly hair, as my un-PC wife explained it.
I think they are just arabs from the surrounding area.
Descendants of Ishmael.
That certainly fits all the genetic studies done.
Yes, you missed where I stated it was a “mixed multitude” that left Eqypt. Plenty of red beards, black beards, light skin, and dark skin, all mixed up.
I was just going by today’s Israeli population and the pictures and freezes you see in Israeli museams/tombs, etc. Arabish with curly hair. White, but closer to Italian than Norweigian.
I just did some quick research on both Cleo and Jesus.
Cleopatra's sister was Macedonian (Ptolemy clan) and probably Numbian (black African). There is uncertainty that the sisters had both parents the same. So, Cleopatra was quite possibly AfroGreek.
Jesus's ethnicity? The opinions are all over the place. One pointed out that "Jew" refers to a religion, not an ethnic group. Many believe that Jesus was Syrian-Philistine and "Philistine" became "Palistinian". Others say he was born in Bethlehem, which makes his ethnicity the ancestors of Palestinians. Others have plenty of research from the Bible and history saying his mother and adopted father came from Jewish tribes. A few Muslims chime in and say they have common heritage with Jesus.
I prefer to believe that all mankind can lay claim to Jesus in some way, thus he is the savior of us all.
“Jew” refers to an ethnic group (the tribe of Judah, the fourth son of Jacob; and later the kingdom of Judah, which included the tribes of Judah, Benjamin and Levi, called “Judaea” by the Romans). “Judaism” refers to a religion. Muslims are not an ethnic group, evidently, but Arabs claim descent from Ishmael (Isaac’s half-Egyptian half-brother) in particular.
There is no such thing as an ethnic “Palestinian”; they are Arabs, hence descendants of Ishmael. Jesus’ mother (hence Jesus Himself) was descended from Isaac.
