A decade before Scott Gurney created Duck Dynasty, he starred as a gay porn star in a 2001 movie called The Fluffer, an unmentioned but delightful fact in the background of the shows recent conflagration over Phil Robertsons homophobic comments to GQ. But its not a secret either; The Fluffer, which was an independent film that played at the 2001 Toronto International Film Festival, is right there on Gurneys IMDb page.
I called Gurney Productions which Gurney founded in 2005 with his wife, Deirdre to ask for a comment. I was told no one gets connected to Scott on the phone, and I should send an email. (I did.) A spokesman for A&E also didnt immediately return an email requesting a comment.
Gurneys character in The Fluffer is gay-for-pay and a meth addict. He becomes the object of obsession for a male film student who gets a job as his on-set fluffer. Its dark! It was directed by Wash West and Richard Glatzer.
Heres one of several YouTube odes to The Fluffer

Obviously this is supposed to be a detriment to the Christianity of Phil Robertson.
The fact is that Hollywood and the entertainment industry is so filled with queers, that it is impossible to be involved in the industry in any way without dealing with them somewhere down the line.
You just can not... make this stuff up, eh?

“The Fluffer”
Sounds like that marshmallow in a jar you buy for hot chocolate.
he might well not be gay...
and he needed the money
It is very, very likely that the creator, and A&E, originally intended this show to be an exhibitory treatise on the ills of the American Right. Something to laugh at, deride and hold up for ridicule in an effort to diminish them.
It is only with the revelation that they had a hit on their hands that A&E did any soul searching at all with respect to their belief. In the end, perversion over principle, and debauchery over morality won out.
The Robertson family should take their leave as soon as possible from these people and that network. If they need another venue, there are a least a couple that won’t treat them like zoo animals.
He might be a cowboy . . . . . . looking for a cowgirl ..
A true heterosexual man will not ‘fluff’ for money. There are too many other options that one can take before that.
Only he apparently didn't use real peanut butter or marshmallow spread.
...He had to, he needed the money, whoa!!

Is that the best that the queers can come up with?
Laughable.
I’m shocked!
Not. At. All.
There is a comment from Willie that this is exactly what the creator was going for with the show...but the Robertsons surprised them.
Gearge C Scott starred in a movie about Snuff Films....but I doubt he’s killed anybody ;-)
I didn’t read it, but it is not hard to speculate that, really.
Nick Searcy dressed in drag in a film. R Lee Ermy, played a gay football coach in a movie.
One of the things about the media establishment is how little they understand America, and us.
“Duck Dynasty” was supposed to be a campy sendup of ignorant Bible-thumping hicks.
It’s not surprising, then, that given the strong association with camp as a sensibility and homosexuality as a lifestyle, that the creative energy behind the IDEA of the show came from a gay man.
“Little Boy blew .... he needed the money!”
Nutella pingee?
