The Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear a challenge to ObamaCare brought by a Virginia-based Christian university, ending for now one of the biggest remaining legal fights against the health care law.
The justices, in turning away the lawsuit from Liberty University and leaving in place a federal appeals court ruling dismissing it, did not comment on their decision. The decision comes less than a week after the high court agreed to hear a challenge from Hobby Lobby and one other company to the law's so-called contraception mandate -- the requirement on most employers to provide access to contraceptive coverage.

Could just be because the Hobby Lobby case they accepted is a better vehicle to rule against the employer mandate. If Hobby Lobby wins, Liberty University will also win.

I was surprised to see a story in the NY Times last week pointing out that the change in the Senate rules was all about abortion. They desperately want to get their pro-abort judges in place so the slaughter can continue. OK, the Times didn’t say that last part.
When there are similar cases in the Scotus pipeline don’t the Supremes usually ask the plaintiffs to combine their presentations? Doesn’t seem to be happening in this case. And in this case they’re letting a lower court ruling stand which is itself a ruling. Maybe I have to let Levin explain it before I get out the tar bucket?
SCOTUS and their families and their staff and their
families are EXEMPT from this unConstitutional tyranny.

Look they are doing the same thing they did with all those
cases against Obama for his birth certificate. Just finding
any reason at all not to hear the case. They’ll do it
with Hobby Lobby and as many other cases as possible. But,
if one case does make it, they will twist themselves up in
a pretzel finding to uphold Obamacare. The fix is in, the
law will stand and we are going to be forced at gunpoint to
be good little socialists. The constitution is dead, the
overthrow is almost complete and Roberts is performing
just as planed.

You are correct and it is just a matter of time. Once it does begin to happen (which will seem "slow" by today's 24x7 news cycle) we can't rely on the news media to give us the real feed. Many (even here on FR) will call those very people extremest and worry too much about the next election or party politics. Bank on it. As I post now, there is no difference between the GOPe and the DNCe. Both seek to simply rule us and neither care our fate so long as they live the good life using our wealth and productivity to garner the votes they need to keep the party going.
I hope when the economy (read society and any rule of what WAS law) collapses because of "their" generocity and re-distribution, they find their last gasps of breathe swinging from the least rusted lamp post. Never forget their names.
Yes, abortion is one of their keys, but there is also the ever expanding overreach of the Fedzilla. They want that mean ole consitution re - interpreted so they don’t have to worry about winning back the house, and the senate super majority in order to get their way.

And that is the great danger, too: loss of the rule of law. It’s sometimes easy to forget that when we get caught up in a particular issue that we care about.
