This guy thinks the Tea Party, Rush Limbaugh, and Fox News are the biggest threat to our nation; but diplomacy is how he thinks he should handle the worst sponsor of state terrorism presently.
You missed my point. I was only stating a simple fact, which is that while IN GENERAL, there is an association between the first three digits of an SSN and the state where it was issued, there is NO NECESSARY ASSOCIATION between those digits and every person to whom those digits were issued.
To say that MOST people have an SSN which corresponds to their state of birth is fine. But to hold up an individual who is an exception to that generalization does not prove anything, other than "here's an exception". It's just a "SO WHAT", because there are LOTS of such individuals. I don't have a clue why Obummer's SSN starts with 042, but that doesn't NECESSARILY say that it's invalid for him.
Understand: I'm certainly not defending him or his SSN -- for all I know it's as illegitimate as a 3-dollar bill. But you can't PROVE that simply because of the first three digits.
Put another way: Do you understand the difference between a generalization and a specific instance which is an exception to the general case? If so, then you must agree that this is at best a circumstantial, statistical case, not a proof of anything specific.

No need to get personal or sarcastic. I've been an FR member for over 8 years and lurked quite a while before that. If you doubt my intentions or leanings I invite you to peruse my posted comments; they're part of the site records.

No way am I going to say anything negative about the MRFA, a wonderful organization which includes the SSN information on their site as a way of helping to track down servicepeople. It's a fine reference. But as they themselves state, it's not a guarantee of every individual's SSN, just a generalized guideline and helpful reference.
Feel free to pursue this angle if you wish -- I can't stop you, and wouldn't if I could. But I feel obliged to point out that claiming Obummer is a fake because his SSN starts with 042 is probably not going to bring him down. OTOH, it would probably be a lot more useful to spend that energy and research trying to get his college records. Best of luck and FRegards.

You might want to read up on the recent (last few years) changes to how SSNs are allocated and assigned. If Soetoro changes his SSN the new one will be RANDOM.

- It eliminates the significance of the highest Group Number and, as a result, the High Group List is frozen in time and can be used for validation of SSNs issued prior to the randomization implementation date.
- Previously unassigned Area Numbers have been introduced for assignment excluding Area Numbers 000, 666 and 900-999.
GOD has been with them and in my humble opinion will not forsake them.

You’re sounding more like a liberal with every post. Please tell me how randomizing the SSN codes from 2011 and later changes the fact that Obama has been using a Connecticut-issue ‘042’ prefix SSN for _____ decades (many years prior to this rule change).

No, my FRiend, I have no “agenda” and certainly not something like that.
I DO have a concern that we (FReepers) establish our proofs of Soetoro’s illegitimacy using facts we can back up in a court (I.e. Senate), not general or circumstantial associations. I don’t personally think the SSN argument is very water-tight, that’s all. It’s too easy to explain away because of how SSNs have been done. Of course it’s fishy and odd. But IMO it’s not solid enough to bring him down effectively. If it were, they would have fixed it long before now to avoid questions.
Like I said, the documentation on his high school and college years is much more likely to yield solid proof of lies and crimes — why else is it so well hidden?
I grant you that I’m rather long winded in my comments. But I would appreciate you avoiding the personal digs and innuendo in your comments here. Our discussion is (or should be) about the provability of the evidence, not whether can call me names for pointing out a weakness in hopes that perhaps the case can be improved. Please, let us not fight each other. We and America have a serious enemy to contend with. Thanks.
