RUSH: Jesse, somewhere in Texas. I have one minute, but I wanted to get to you. Hi.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. Mega Air Force brat dittos.
RUSH: Thank you.
CALLER: I wanted to call and let you know that I'm working in health care. I'm actually a comptroller for a hospital, but I'd heard rumors this was happening. My wife last week had a family doctor appointment with an OBGYN, and one or two of the mandatory questions she was asked is, "Do you own a gun in your house, and do you keep it loaded in your house?" They would not register her as a patient until she answered that question.
RUSH: Now, you had heard that was coming, but you didn't know it was real until yesterday?
CALLER: Well, 'til last week when my wife had that appointment.
RUSH: Last week.
CALLER: She came home and I was shocked.
RUSH: You were shocked, even though you had heard about it before?
CALLER: I heard rumors, but I was like, "There's no way a health care provider is going to ask that kind of question."
RUSH: Unless they are mandated to by the federal government.
CALLER: Well, and I figure it's part of Obamacare, but just the sheer fact that they asked the question and they wouldn't even let her register as a patient until she answered the question blew my mind.
RUSH: Right. Well, that's the tip of the iceberg of the things that they're gonna know about everybody who signs up.

PING!
Nanny State PING!

Of course not - guns are scary and evil.
They’ll get their registry, one way or the other.
BTW, “None of your damn business” gets marked down as “yes”.
My doctor has his FFL.

this should level the field and have your primary dr puckering hard
And that is why I will never say none of your biz, just a simple NO. My wife knows this as well. According to big brothercare, we have no guns.
I'm going with "I don't want to spoil the surpise."
In which case the doctor will just put down "yes" - guns in the home. The only answer to give is NO. Period.
I was asked that question 5-6 years ago. My PCP, a friend and former customer of my now-closed Family Farm Business for 22yrs and I shoot together, monthly, so he put a ‘NO’ on the answer block.
Just lie and say NO.
I answered all the questions "N/A" to that and drew a single line from corner to corner on that page. I only answered the other forms that asked about insurance, medical questions, billing etc.
I was glad they didnt demand I answer the questions, but wonder how many people filled out answers to those questions.
Thought you got zotted, sorry to see you back.
Nope. No Firearms.
No pens or paper either.
I completely have given up on the Bill of Rights.
Feel better Doc that your income monitored?
How you going to pay off that student loan? Going to owe your soul to the company store?
And remember that, because of HIPAA, your entire medical file, including any information that could be used against you, can now be accessed by a multitude of government authorities, federal, state and local.
This is especially important if you have ever taken any pharmaceutical drug that can be considered psychoactive, including drugs given to children for ADHD (attention deficit), antidepressants (the most widely prescribed pharma), etc. Also importantly, you may not have been prescribed these drugs for *years* or even *decades*, but they may be used as an excuse to confiscate guns.
All told, perhaps 80% or more of Americans could be *disallowed* from purchasing or owning guns because at some point they took a medically prescribed drug.
Does that have any meaning to you?
