CBS poll: Obama approval sinks nine points in a month to 37%

Consider the lame-duck descent confirmed. A day after the Washington Post/ABC poll showed disapproval for Barack Obama and ObamaCare reaching new highs, the new CBS News poll shows his approval plummeting nine points in a month to 37%. Support for the Affordable Care Act managed to drop even faster:

It seems to me that the mainstream media will have no choice but to attempt to rehabilitate Obama or at least to rehabilitate the Democrat party for a number of reasons.

First he is the iconic first black president and that image must be held pristine at all costs.

Second, the failure of Obamacare is the failure of big government so some way around the proposition that big government is the problem must be found because the mainstream media is wedded to the proposition that government is the solution.

Third, the media generally believes that the implementation of Obamacare has been a failure but the object, redistribution of wealth and the application of health insurance to all no matter what the cost, is laudable and should be protected.

Fourth, the media viscerally dislikes the Republicans especially their tainted relationship with Christians And the Tea Party and will do everything they can to break the Republican base away and encourage third-party candidates.

The media ain't done yet.

Odd that the opposition party keeps running Dole, Kerry and Romney etc against these presidents the American public is ready to tire of. Romney was probably the strongest of that group and of course Clinton had Perot to help him both times.

I am not a conspiracy guy so I don’t see one here either. But we have an ultimate DC insider and two guys from MA a state well outside the mainstream. I can not imagine anytime that Dole or Kerry would have won.

It's getting very obvious that Obamacare is sinking his presidency and the Democratic party. Question is will the Dems wake up and demand repeal or will they go down with him?

Just yesterday viewers were informed on 6abc (Philly) morning show that WaPo/ABC poll showed Obama approval took a nose dive to historic low due to Obamacare website, a whopping 42 percent!

You think his poll numbers are bad now? Just wait until hundreds (maybe thousands) of extremely ill people who had their insurance cancelled by obamacare regulations and were unable to obtain and/or afford a new obamacare policy start to DIE after January 1, 2014 because they can no longer obtain health care!

Ted Cruz needs to gather a couple of dozen of these poor souls from around the nation, and hold a press conference with them surrounding him, and declare: “Mr. President, let’s tear down this Obamacare now! It’s time to repeal this monstrosity. Too many innocent people are dying already. Let’s stop the horror before more are killed by it.”

Do they break down the figures by race? If you assume that the black people polled are still 90% on Obama’s side, the level of support among the rest of the population may be 29 or 30%.

I think people - the great “middle” who really don’t follow things 24/7 - are finally just waking up and seeing this guy for the liar that he is, and are sick of his bullsh*t.

Obamacare opened up the hole in the media facade, and people who weren’t paying attention before are suddenly looking through that hole and seeing Jughead for what he is - a phoney narcissistic sack of BS.

I think the Tea Party consciousness helped too. People just want to be left alone, and not have big government involved in every single facet of their lives.

Not every Democrat is a rabid drooling libtard, just as not every Republican is a conservative. But most folks have one thing in common - they HATE their pockets being picked, and they KNOW when someone is doing it - i.e., Obamacare, hence the slide.

What remains to be seen is how vindictive he gets and what damage he’ll try to inflict out of spite.
