Santorum Bashes Cruz: He Did More Harm (Ricky outted as just a pro life lib estab)
Breitbart ^ | 10-27-13 | Staff

Posted on 10/27/2013 10:03:01 AM PDT by C. Edmund Wright

Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press, former Pennsylvania Senator and 2012 presidential candidate Rick Santorum bashed Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), saying that Cruz’s crusade against Obamacare had ben counterproductive. “I would say in the end, he did more harm. I think it was not his objective," Santorum said.

He continued: "I think his objective was a laudable one. I think he didn't do a very good job of planning it out. I think it's one thing to have a goal and another thing to have a plan to get you to that goal…Unlike the Democratic party who has a leader, has the president, there isn't a leader in the Republican Party right now. That's part of the problem. That's part of the mess and the confusion. But that's always the way it is with a party out of power. You have lots of different faces and those faces, as we've seen, they come and they go."

Then in the end he gave in, and was polite about giving in.

He didn't "give in" he knew he didn't have enough support to do a real filibuster.

Santorum knows he missed the boat, while Cruz is sailing full steam ahead.

Santorum could not run as the moderate he is because that would have hurt Romney. So he ran as a fake conservative. I will NEVER forgive him
for supporting that turncoat Arlen Specter.

Wow, I didn’t know Santorum stepped into so much dog poop on Trayvon and Zimmerman. He was pathetic and clueless.....rushing, no, vaulting to the front of the line to talk about what a monster Zimmerman is.

WAY TO GO RICKY....

Basically, he said that Cruz was right to oppose Obamacare, but didn’t choose the best way to do it. I suppose that’s arguable,...

If it's arguable that the Cruz strategy was wrong then why doesn't Santorum explain why he thinks the strategy was wrong.

Why doesn't Santorum say the strategy was wrong because Obama, the Democrats and the media all lie, and the Republicans are too afraid to fight the lies and therefor the Cruz strategy doesn't work.

All of the above is true. So why doesn't Santorum explain it? Why doesn't King, McCain, Sunnunu(Sp.?) and the rest of them all explain it? The answer is they too are too damned afraid of the media and they are part of the problem.

but in actuality all Cruz did was to draw attention to himself as a Tea Partier.

Okay, you want to be cynical about this. So why doesn't your cynicism extend to Santorum. You don't think his appearance on NBC criticizing Cruz was self serving??

Why would you do that to a pig?

FWIW, Santorum lost a lot of support when he started saying he wanted to compromise to get results in DC. By the time Obama's second campaign season came along, it was obvious that compromise on principles is not going to solve the US's problems.

And now Santorum is speaking for Ted Cruz?? Cruz does a much better job speaking for himself. What Cruz did was brilliant. He got out front of the Obamacare disaster, so the dems and the RINO saboteurs own it. Besides that, you've got the NSA spying scandals gaining traction. By drawing attention to what's going on in DC, Cruz created a situation the dems and the RINOs may never recover from.

Santorum is coming across as just plain dumb.

Ricky voted for all the big govt stuff when he was a senator. He’s not conservative except religiously.

I don’t get the “Cruz is hurting Republican victories” talk.

I understand that he’s pushed away a few Republicans. But the problem is Republicans who actually want to change things haven’t had a real victory in a long time. The closest was in 2000 when there was some tax reform enacted. But that was offset by Medicare Part D and other increases in entitlement spending. They also go the stem cell lines based on aborted fetuses to be defunded of federal funds. After that, what did Republicans who want to stop reckless spending win on? What did pro-life Republicans win on?

Republicans are tired of sending reps to DC who as soon as they get there do their best to maintain the status quo. Democrats are fine with their reps lying to them and working to enrich themselves at their expense, Republicans shouldn’t be.

Santorum self-destructed in the debates, before he started acting as a spoiled brat onstage.

He did, and was astonishingly petulant....criticized other Republicans more than he did Obama....and yet, was given credit for not doing any of that.

It was bizzaro world stuff.....

Au contraire, Mr. Santorum; Senator Cruz's stand against Obamacare did two things. The first was to set up a big I-told-you-so ahead of the big Healthcare.gov website roll out MASSIVE FAILURE. The second thing he accomplished, and this is probably much more important, was to flush people like you from cover.

Make no mistake: We took note of who did and who didn't support Senators Cruz, Paul, and Lee.
