Going from memory, iron per say is not a star killer and my guess is that you would be correct in thinking that any small iron body approaching the sun would be vaporized and blown out into space. Anyway back to iron. Once a star begins fusing iron it begins to lose energy and collapses. So it is not the presence of iron that is the problem, it is the process of creating iron that robs the star of energy. Not the iron itself. Hope that helps.

No. Thunder and lightening are caused by relatively low-level discharges of electric potential in the dense region of Earth's atmosphere near the surface. Comets do not carry that kind of electric charge and even if they did something from space exchanging electrical potential with the Earth would do so harmlessly in the ionosphere miles above the cloud layers, at those altitudes thunder and lightening are not possible due to the low atmospheric density.

Earthquakes are caused by movement of layers of rock miles BELOW the surface. The energy that causes them is internal, it has built up from slow movement of rock layers over hundreds or thousands of years when it reaches a point where an entire region of rocks can no longer withstand the shearing forces, the rocks crumble and an earthquake occurs. The energy required to induce that kind of movement from above would be on the level of nuclear detonations, certainly static discharge of electricity wouldn't do the trick, even if such a thing were possible from a comet -- which it is not.

Watch Why Does Iron Kills Stars . Is this not a possibility, although it may not be very probable ?

It's true that iron kills stars, but it's not by way of infection from small bodies falling into them.

A star has to create iron at its core for it to die. Stars only do this at the end of their lives. During that process, they create most of the heavier elements, including iron, which is the one element that destroys the fusion process and instantly causes the star to go nova.

That may be true, but remember this:

Take a look at what the Matthew Henry Commentary on the Whole Bible (Complete) has to say about verse 6.
Imagined ... or contemplated ... or well thought out, thoroughly; ... Think about that. Ponder that for a while.
So we have the capability to figure our how God makes things work, and how to achieve what we seriously work towards.
Now if we have the capability to do that, and God had to have his angels confound them, then we should at least listen to what serious, well studied men have to say about Ison.

Rare Hybrid Solar Eclipse to Occur Sunday (Nov. 3) as the final solar eclipse of 2013

The eclipse will begin as an annular eclipse -- also referred to as a "ring of fire" eclipse, in which the Moon blackens all but the outer circumference of the Sun -- then, after about 15 seconds of annular eclipse, the Moon's orbit will be close enough to Earth to create a total solar eclipse, where Moon completely hides all direct rays of sunlight from the observer.

... For the US East Coast, clear skies down to the eastern horizon will be essential for good eclipse viewing. Residents in Washington, DC can expect the eclipse to begin at 6:38 a.m. and last for about 30 minutes.

... "Nearly all of Africa and the southern Mediterranean region including Spain will see partial phases of the eclipse, while greatest totality occurs just off of the coast of Liberia and heads for first landfall on the African continent over Wonga Wongue Reserve in Gabon. At this point, the duration of totality will already have shrunk back down to 1 minute and 7 seconds. The shadow of the Moon will then cross central Africa, headed for a short but brilliant sunset total eclipse over Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia."

A hybrid eclipse like Sunday's is quite rare. Out of about 12,000 solar eclipses that have happened in the last 4,000 years, only 5 percent have taken this hybrid form, according to Universe Today.

No. A disintegrating comet whose orbit brought it too close to the sun to survive.

The comet was 1 to 3 miles in diameter before it entered the Sun’s outer atmosphere. Whatever is left of it it too small to cause a great extinction.
