(CNN) -- U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six pulled out during a raid to capture suspected Al-Shabaab leader Ikrima when it became clear that he couldn't be taken alive, a senior U.S. official told CNN.
"Their mission was to capture him. Once it became clear we were not going to able to take him, the Navy commander made the decision to withdraw," said the official, who has direct knowledge of the entire Somalia operation but declined to be identified publicly.

I guess the law of the west (wanted dead or alive) is inoperative. And military operations are for capture of prisoners only. Military no longer allowed to kill the enemy in combat.
Interesting that they have a policy of take no prisoners, while our policy is to only take prisoners, and we’re the bad guys...

Which “official story” might you be referring to? As with any and all manufactured Obama crises - there are always several different and contradictory “official stories” that emanate from the White Hut.
I well remember the OBL incident had several sets of lies being released hour after hour. Much like Benghazi.

You misunderstand. Killing this guy would be seen as collateral damage by the C-in-C.
It sure does and, considering the source, probably most certainly is.
Its pretty confusing considering that Bin Laden’s life wasn’t taken into consideration in an earlier operation.
The SEAL Commanders have to be pissed that Obama and his media keep disclosing secret ops.

It almost certainly is spin. A radio report this morning said that the team met a welcoming party when they landed, fought for about an hour and then withdrew. So they were expected. Someone passed on info to the bad guys.
so now doesn’t this guy just have to be in a suicide vest forever or have an empty tooth socket filled with a cyanide tooth, because he’d never be able to be taken alive wearing one?
