The Obama administration is adding more barricades at the World War Two Memorial in Washington, D.C. this morning, according to reporters on the scene.
The reinforcements are being put in place apparently to prevent a repeat of yesterday when WWII veterans aided by several Republican Congressmen pushed aside barricades to visit their memorial.
Buzzfeed got no response from the White House last night when queried about the administration closing the memorial to veterans.
A report last night claimed that the Park Service would arrest veterans who attempt to visit the WWII Memorial.
Good point, too bad it won't be made in the media, probably not even on Fox.
Yep...but facebook is trying to take down their efforts to announce this....and of course we know who is behind that!
Obama doesn’t want any demonstrations at all during the Washington Shut down.....so will be interesting if these truckers and those with them carry through....I tend to think that they will just as the Vets stormed through anyway.
I agree with a lot you have said. Only thing is that Claire was there whining about the tea party using the memorial for politics. Oh really, what the heck was she doing there? I know the woman is a total political whore. That was why I made my comment!
I do think IT’S TIME!
Truckers on their way soon and likely the Bikers will Join them along the way....
Obama and Reid shut it all down...and the people appear to be saying it’s not yours to do that!
Shut down Obamacare and we’ll talk!
Good point!
Don’t underestimate the push people have without the Media.....
If the capital gets stormed they can’t avoid it...they tried to do this with the Bikers.....but I do think what is now brewing will be beyond their ability to ignore.
Whoops saw picts but not the top one....my bad!!
Note to the people monitoring this thread who are seriously considering putting together organized protests with the goal of getting people arrested for crossing barricades -- make sure you have some black World War II vets getting arrested, especially if it is white police officers doing the arresting.
Conservatives don't usually think about race because most of us aren't racists. The other side, however, thinks about race all the time.
"Optics" on this one will count.
If I'm correct, based on the photo posted here on Free Republic, the 97-year-old WW2 vet who was the oldest vet at the event yesterday was either black or had a pretty dark tan.
Somebody needs to ask him what he thinks about the government shutdown.
I know some of the people who went on these "Honor Flights." One of them was a minority who, even now at the end of his life, passionately hates Hitler, Hirohito, and the bigoted ethnocentric agenda which Fascism in both its Aryan and Asian forms advocated. He's not conservative enough for Free Republic, and he sometimes (not always) votes for Democrats, but he would be furious if he went all the way to Washington for an Honor Flight and got turned away by a government shutdown.
It wouldn't be the Republicans he would be blaming.
Let's be honest: while the Honor Flight people who I know were glad to be there, some of them had aging issues.
If this 97-year-old veteran is capable of speaking clearly, getting his comments on national TV could become very interesting.
It doesn’t matter what Obama does or doesn’t care about. What matters is what the constituents of Dem Senators in Gray or Red states think he cares about. And if Harry Reid wants to stay Senate Majority leader, he will care about what those constituents think as well.
There’s more of us but who goes first?
Truckers and bikers are on the way. .
See, this is why I’m most upset about the WW2 Memorial: These guys are making what is probably their final trip to the nation’s capital. To be refused admittance is to be refused their final visit, and Obastard is proving how heartless he is when he plays political football with these guys.
“Damn you, Obastard. Damn you to Hell.”
Now THAT was a blow to the gut!! bravo!!
Well said.
I think we're on the same page.
I don't care whether we win via the front door or the back door as long as Obamacare gets kicked out the door.
“Total political whores” can be forced to vote right on individual issues. It's the ideologically committed leftists — the ones who are willing to fall on their swords and lose their seats doing what they (wrongly) think is the right thing — who can't be worked with.
I'll take a good vote from a Democrat any day, regardless of the reasons. After all, as the old saying goes, “hypocrisy is the tribute vice pays to virtue.”

We dont have time to dilly dally with the Democrats....except to keep the pressure on ....And she will not fold against Obama on the main issues...never!”
We certainly agree that if the Republicans aren't united we can't expect Democrats to fold (with a few exceptions like the West Virginia senator on coal-related issues).
But if we can get the Republicans to vote right, we still have to get enough Democrats on board to get to 50 percent in the Senate and actually send a bill to President Obama to fund the rest of government except Obamacare, and then force him to use his veto pen.
That is where people like Sen. McCaskill can be useful.
She will never vote to de-fund Obamacare. But with constituent pressure, she may be willing to vote to fund everything except Obamacare.
Damn you, Obastard. Damn you to Hell.

Hear, hear!
Petty little imp, huh?

Absolutely spot on.
It’s always better when you can use a Useful Idiot for a GOOD purpose for once - and they’re too stupid to know the difference...
