A group of World War II veterans in an Honor Flight group Tuesday knocked over barriers imposed during the government shutdown at the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C., to get inside.
As part of the federal government shutdown, national parks are closed. But the group of veterans continued to the monument Tuesday, as reported by Stars and Stripes reporter Leo Shane.
Hmmm...Obama orders the park police to forcibly evict the WW II vets. The Park police refuse. Obama orders the US marshals to evict the WW II vets. The marshals refuse and instead join with the Park police.
Obama calls the commander of the 82nd Airborne. The commander laughs, then hangs up on Obama.
Black vets are outraged. Liberal vets are outraged. All vets are outraged. America is outraged. Congress begins impeachment hearings.
Okay, daydream is over. Obama orders the park police to forcibly evict the WW II vets. Park police respond with enthusiasm. MSM declares Obama the champion of public order. America goes back to watching cable TV.
“Were looking about how to deal with this in the future, Park Police spokeswoman Carol Johnson said Tuesday.”
I see SWAT teams and snipers as the government solution to these evil vets...
God bless our warrior heroes!
Maybe Rep. King is good for something after all! (diverting federal goons) :) :)
This was Steve King R of Iowa. The clown is Peter King RINO of NY.
My very best is for the Park Rangers not to mess with them. They will come out looking terrible no matter what. And I don't think it will help there street creds getting beaten up by an 80+ year old with a cane.
FYI, park police are not park rangers. The park police are an offshoot of the park service and have their own uniforms, rules etc.
Very good but now if only one of them would go and knock down Obama things would be much better.
Furthermore, he has a black band around his badge -- usually only put on if an NPS employee has died in the line of duty. Is he wearing it because the of the gov shutdown? If so, totally against regulations and downright inappropriate.
AND, only law enforcement park rangers are supposed to be working (unpaid), while all civilian "rangers" are to be furloughed. Why is he on duty to begin with?
Danged ole 80 year old veterans!!!! God bless em.
Wouldn't it be ironic if history were to record that CWII started as a dustup between DC cops and a band of wheelchair-bound WWII vets?
"Let's Roll!!"
The “future” is upon them ... www.honorflight.org has a monthly calendar showing older vet groups coming to DC. There are 4 tomorrow, 1 Thurs., 5 Friday, and 6 Saturday with the same continuing week after week, month after month. Over 600 WWII era vets die every day, so there’s no putting off these trips for many of them. If a flight isn’t full, I believe they let Korea War vets fill empty seats. Last week my dh and his 90 yr. old dad went and most of the vets were 90 or older. The liveliest of the bunch was 101. He didn’t use the wheel chair provided at all.
The parks belong to the people, the citizens of this country, NOT to the Federal Government.
Those look like a bunch of hardened anarchists to me. BTT
They didn’t build that!
Oh. Wait.
Yes, they did.
God Bless each and every one of them.
You got that right. I wish I could teleport and plop, just be there. Hope there's a crowd building. Occupy it tonight!
