As Mr. Pauls and Mr. Cruzs recent filibusters on the Senate floor have shown, the 2016 quest for the White House is well underway. A fierce battle among the new small-government, libertarian stars is already raging.
That has left a growing number of conservative activists voicing concerns publicly about a scenario that would let a moderate Republican like Mr. Christie slip through the cracks of a movement divided between such strong conservative personalities as Mr. Paul, Mr. Cruz and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
It seems like a broken record every four years: a number of conservatives run against one or two moderates apparently theres no such thing as a liberal Republican the conservatives cancel each other, and the moderate ekes out a primary win, lamented Media Research Center President L. Brent Bozell.
Pollsters see the same scenario in 2016 based on current data.
The pattern in recent cycles suggests that the GOP will ultimately settle on a more establishment candidate as a result of a continued split among conservatives, pollster and campaign strategist Matt Towery said.

I do not care what the results are.
If I cannot vote for Ted Cruz, then I won’t be voting.
If there are enough stupid morons in this country who want Fat Boy or Cankles as their president, then by all means.
I do not support the GOP any more.
Ted Cruz or bust.
That is all.
"...The federal government calls them FEMA Corps. But they conjure up memories of the Hitler Youth of 1930s Germany. Regardless of their name, the Dept of Homeland Security has just graduated its first class of 231 Homeland Youth. Kids, aged 18-24 and recruited from the Presidents AmeriCorp volunteers, they represent the first wave of DHSs youth corps, designed specifically to create a full time, paid, standing army of FEMA Youth across the country. On September 13, 2012, the Department of Homeland Security graduated its first class of FEMA Corps first-responders. While the idea...." read more.......

I think that says a lot about more your intellect than it does Paul's.
BTW, I often come across posts by you at FR and I must tell you I find you a light weight poster mostly pushing one agenda or another. (In this instance an anti-Paul agenda). I could also expand those comment to include (with some notable exceptions) American Thinker. I would summarize for you but as always I try to follow management rules here at FR. I will say that I do tire of the constant Anti Paul comments a few intellectually challenged Freepers like to post. I suggest yall give the anti-Paul campaign a rest for a while, unless that is you are striving to split conservatives and nominate a Christy or a Jeb. I am quite confidence that both Paul and Cruz know the stakes and will WORK TOGETHER (with Sarah) to nominate a conservative in 2016.
In other words, unless there is a coordinated concentrated campaign behind one, and only one Conservative GOP candidate, the RINO will walk away with the nomination.
I am very impressed with Ted Cruz's fight right now, but as a Presidential candidate, I would like to know how he would treat immigration (borders?, back of the line?, pathway to citizenship?, crack down on employers?, etc.). Also, is he prepared to slash the Federal budget to get us back to financial responsibility??? Even though he is fighting against the budget busting Obumbocare now, he is still voting to continue spending at a trillion dollar per year deficient.
“...all beating up on each other letting Romney off the hook,...”
I do too.
Path forward, then is going after the RINO / squish moderate right off the bat and removing him from the equation?
(shrug)
Then Pork Porkie will be the GOP establishment’s third consecutive loser.
The biggest loser.
I will never voye for that slob.
Sure we did. Cain, Santorum, Newt, and to a lesser extent Bachmann, they all had their adherents, here and within the party.
Had we decided on one, someone might have stopped Romney. Conservatives need one, and ONLY one, candidate around which to coalesce and we must unite around that candidate.
Thank you for your comments. I look forward to reading your published works, though you’d have to ante up a real name.
And FTR, comments are not anti-Paul, just more pro Cruz for example.
Dude, that's not much different that what I said....that you took umbrage to. I guess it's okay for you to do it since you have Paul bot cred? Sheesh.......
Perhaps the GOP should look at their primary system nationwide.
You said,
“If I cannot vote for Ted Cruz, then I wont be voting.”
I hope this doesn’t mean that I should blame Cbama’s re-”election” on YOU...

Do you mean you aren’t allowed to post comments at the Washington Times website?
You can blame anything on anyone you want, it doesn’t matter a hill of beans to me.
Ted Cruz or bust.
The rinos won’t get my vote no matter what.
Newt split the vote by staying in after he was no longer viable.
I don’t trust the Paul people, but Rand Paul isn’t mentally retarded so he won’t be running as a third party. The reason his daddy didn’t was because it would have ruined Rand’s career.
When did Romney tell Boehner to break the Hastert Rule?
Romney was better than all the other’s on immigration in a weak field.
He probably supported amnesty once he won the nomination.
Cruz and Paul won’t run against eachother. One will drop out. In terms of what bills they will get to sign it will make little difference.
One problem is Paul running with amnesty lite and losing a lot of supporters. Paul supports amnesty lite but he first has to dupe congress into it. A Tancredo type candidate who has a sensible immigration position could siphon off votes. On the muslim profiling and immigration issue as well.
I dont think Christie was ever going to run all the way for president. He just wanted to point out he could run even as a fat man.
