Good to see the thin blue line protecting the citizens of Somers, New York, from the dangerous threat of . . . people expressing their 1st Amendment rights!
From Western Free Press:
John Gibson, resident of the Somers, NY, community of Lake Lincolndale, had finally had enough. After his third pro-Second Amendment lawn sign mysteriously disappeared, he set up a hunting camera to catch the culprit. Much to his surprise, the culprit turned out to be a Somers police officer.
Mary Beth Murphy, an official from the Town of Somers, contends that the police officer was acting because Gibsons sign was in the right-of-way, rather than on his property. However, numerous facts cast doubt on this contention, including photographic evidence of the officers expression and his violent attack upon the sign, and the apparent lack of any notice or citation. Yeah. Firearms should only be trusted to trained law enforcement who are charged with safeguarding your rights (when they agree with you).
In the State of New York? You betcha!
Rebar, concrete and a heavy metal sign should slow him down. And of course well on your property.
All I can say, is that I despise these slime bags, from the official who ordered it, to the dirt bag who removed it.
PFL
It is amazing how so many become Nazis so quickly when they feel they aren’t getting their way.
Well, Mr. Mayor, perhaps the police should’ve determined the boundaries of Mr. Gibson’s property before they acted. A trip to the Westchester Cty clerk’s office would determine if Mr. Gibson indeed placed his signs on a “right of way”. A little due diligence goes a long way.
As I posted yesterday. Rub your signs with Poison Ivy/Oak?Sumac. Make them pay! Then look for people with arms and hands covered in Calamine Lotion! Caught my neighbor’s kid that way.
We citizens, seeing as it is supposed to be OUR government, need to demand that any government official who breaks the law be subjected to, AT MINIMUM, 10 times the jail time and fines which an ordinary citizen would face as they have been given power and they abused it.
There has to be additional penalties for government officials.
Try letting the grass grow on the "right of way" and see how quickly you get a citation.
Why hasn’t that clown cop been arrested already? If I did that, I would have been.
Next thing you know it will be illegal to record video on your lawn.
Anything to protect the State.
Remember, these people will be your masters and guards in the New England FEMA re-education, work, or elimination camps.
There is no reason for New York to exist.
OH! In some communities it is now illegal to allow your children to play on your own property with a fake gun. A kid has been suspended from school for that action.
The city is claiming that the sign is on the right-of-way and they can remove them legally.
What will it take to wake the public up? Freedom requires constant vigilance and protection.
IT is our duty as citizens to maintain a constant involvement in the operation of our government functions, from the local level to the federal level.
For too long we have handed the keys of government to our servants and gone about the business of living our lives and trusted that they will behave in our best interest.
Just like raising a child or a pet, they will stray if you don't give them the attention they require.
A great way to solve this problem is by freaking the cop out (at a safe distance). For instance, rigging the sign with flash bulbs, so that someone tampering with it suddenly gets strong flashes from several directions.
