Open carry activists in Orion Township, Mich., had the police called on them during their For Liberty Friday protest last week. However, they were pleasantly surprised when they were confronted by a sheriffs deputy who completely supported their demonstration because it is protected under the Second Amendment.
We saw the a [sic] OC Sheriff car pull up so we all took out our camera-phones right away, anticipating trouble, the videos description reads. This officer gets out of his car, waves to us, and walks right over. He shakes all of our hands, introduces himself, and states his purpose for walking over to us.
The officer reportedly never asked the protesters to disarm or asked for their names or identification as they were not suspected of committing a crime.
I think I can speak for everyone in the group that it was an honor to meet this man, the video description continues. This is what we need to see from police officers everywhere! THIS MAN IS A HERO.
In the video uploaded on YouTube earlier this week, the deputy says people call, I gotta come.
You guys are exercising your freedom of speech, your Second Amendment rights and thats all good, deputy Paul Buell says. Im out to catch bad guys, not people that are exercising their constitutional rights.

Every once in a while, you get a good one!
..let’s watch for the inevitable.
There's a man who needs to be a chief or Sheriff.
Why am I positive he will lose his job?
He didn't read the same DHS memo I did. We ARE the bad guys!
Note to any “Large And In Charge” types trying to figure out what happened here:
Diplomacy GOOD. ‘Roid rage BAD.
Very true.
Now that Deputy knows the law.
There's a man who needs to be Attorney General.
I'm "down" with that.
Because you're a typical knee-jerk reactionary pessimist?
Hey, since you asked, that was the first answer that came to mind.........
They are out there. I was at a gun rights rally at Houston City Hall in 1994. One of the speakers was the police chief of Belton, TX, who spoke extensively on supporting the citizens’ right to carry and self defense. He said that if law abiding people were allowed to carry, the death toll at the Luby’s Massacre would have been much lower. He was immediately followed by the woman who lost her mother at that massacre. Due to the law at that time, she had to leave her gun in her car, and was thus defenseless.
I had just moved back to Texas from Minnestoopid two years ago. Shortly after moving back, I was talking to an HPD officer about the area. He asked me if I had a handgun. What surprised me, after ten years in Minnestopid, was that he recommended an indoor range that was nearby and where a number of HPD officers shot while off duty. It’s good to be back home in Texas!
Im surprised that were even hearing about this!
Thanks.

Thanks Nachum.
Bless this man. He’s one in a million.
We’ve got a solid pro gun AG now (who I’m kinda wishing was governor) but there is always the future.
