John Kerry under fire for 'unbelievably small' comment
POLITICO ^ | September 9, 2013 | TAL KOPAN

As President Barack Obama kicks off an all-out push for a strike on Syria, Secretary of State John Kerry came under fire on Monday for saying any attack would be “unbelievably small” and suggesting the Syrian ruler still had a week to give up his chemical weapons to avoid a U.S. assault - a remark Kerry’s spokeswoman later attempted to clarify.

The off-key comments came in a joint press conference in London with Britain’s foreign secretary, where Kerry said the strike would be able to harm Assad without putting American troops on the ground and with a “very limited, very targeted, short-term effort.”

“That is exactly what we are talking about doing – unbelievably small, limited kind of effort,” Kerry said, according to reports.

The comments, which dismayed even supporters of an attack on Syria, added fuel to the debate as Obama launches a full court press 48-hour media and political blitz to try to sell the plan to a skeptical American public and Congress.

Good thing Assad is not a Tea Party member.

Pray for America to Wake Up

Vietnam veteran John Kerry, who was in Vietnam while serving during the Vietnam war somewhere in Vietnam, has gone from accusing American servicemen of war crimes for farting too loudly to claiming that an unprovoked missile attack on a sovereign nation is "unbelievably small." Funny how life works out, innit, Johnnyboy?

Tell ya what - you go give Assad a few noogies and we'll call it good, OK?

USS Maine, or what Hearst said "you furnish the pictures, I furnish the war". Spanish-American war.

HMS Lusitania was sent to be torpedoed in order to get U.S. into WWI.

USS Arizona and 7 others were delivered to Japs on a platter to attack to provide justification for the U.S. to enter WWII.

Tonkin Incident #2 was in the same vein.

There is a pattern emerging here - deception in order to manipulate public and enter into the war.

That was on high seas. On land it is no different, except the lies are more brazen:

Iraq was attacked under false accusation that WMD is present there.

Serbia was attacked because of fabricated massacre (William Walker et al.) fake peace talks in Rambouillet, with the agreement written in such manner that Serbia can not accept it. Peppered with stories about "the ethnic cleansing" and "genocide"

Libya was attacked to topple Ghadaffi and get AQ into driving seat. Again by using fake "genocide" ruse.

Except Korea, in all wars in the last 100+ years U.S. Government manipulated voters with lies or premeditated sacrifice of American lives in order to get into the war under false pretense.

Something to think about. Syria is established habit, not an aberration.

"I'm getting a brain transplant tomorrow."

Not to pick, but I think the proper term would be brain "implant."

Transplant indicates that he has one to exchange.

“...just an Arch Duke that nobody liked anyway.”

Do you have the gall to suggest that we might learn anything from a study of history?

How passé!

After all, what could Santayana or Churchill possibly know about world affairs?

Perhaps Kerry should invite Assad wind surfing and have Heinz ketchup and crackers on his boat he didn't pay taxes on.

No problem at all, I am not the grammar/spelling police by any stretch...just wanted to use your post to point out with a touch of humor that they are all incompetent...it amazes me, but it is true. Sadly we find ourselves with the distinction of having not only incompetents in charge, they are layered all the way throughout our government.

As one writer so succinctly put it..."this is the man who attended political catechism classes from the North Vietnamese to memorize that repeat their accusations against his country of war crimes in Indochina, and, inter alia, ran for president in 2004 asserting that while he had voted to invade Iraq in 2003, he was not implicated in that decision because he did not vote to fund the invasion once underway.

Most of those in political power around the world, understand the real John Kerry and some of them along with may Americans weep at the Kerry, Obama, Snow, Clinton, Jarrett, Axelrod, Denis McDonough... ...this man knew about the IRS scandals a month before BHO knew....If anyone believes that there is a bri..........Gun grabbing EOs, a blindside for the Muslim Brotherhood...and on and on....CALL YOUR CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS...something bad is happening to America under BHO, an inadequate POTUS cum community organizer in way over his head.

Here’s a perfect analogy: http://youtu.be/6Phj5A1zw7Q
Aging hippie thinks an “unbelievably small” show of force will intimidate a punk into compliance...and gets a knockout blow from a 3rd party, with other thugs taking advantage of the situation.
