As President Barack Obama kicks off an all-out push for a strike on Syria, Secretary of State John Kerry came under fire on Monday for saying any attack would be unbelievably small and suggesting the Syrian ruler still had a week to give up his chemical weapons to avoid a U.S. assault - a remark Kerrys spokeswoman later attempted to clarify.
The off-key comments came in a joint press conference in London with Britains foreign secretary, where Kerry said the strike would be able to harm Assad without putting American troops on the ground and with a very limited, very targeted, short-term effort.
That is exactly what we are talking about doing unbelievably small, limited kind of effort, Kerry said, according to reports.
The comments, which dismayed even supporters of an attack on Syria, added fuel to the debate as Obama launches a full court press 48-hour media and political blitz to try to sell the plan to a skeptical American public and Congress.

Why can't they communicate a coherent message?
What's really going on while we're being distracted by the shiny object?
Everything this clown says is unbelievable.
Someone on Twitter said, "So what are we talking here, egging Assad's house?"
“Unbelievably small” sounds more like something ThereZZZZa would say.
‘Unbelievably small’ about sums it up for the Obomber administration.
Politically, this is getting laughable.
As a national security matter, however, this is getting worrisome.
Incompetents in office is always dangerous.

Not to worry John- on this one, sadly, we believe you
“Unbelievably small.” Yeah, and was was just an Arch Duke that nobody liked anyway.
maybe a drive-by fruiting!
It appears that the entire administration is incompetent. No wonder the US is the laughing stock of the world right now.

I’d have said:
“So, what are we talking about here? Lighting a bag of Obama on Assad’s front stoop?”

This article will show that President Lyndon B. Johnson twisted the Gulf of Tonkin incident into a False Flag to start a war between America and North Vietnam. His actions would lead to the deaths of 58,220 Americans and an untold number of Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Laotians.
The Gulf of Tonkin incident is the name given to two separate confrontations involving North Vietnam and the United States in the waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. Prior to the two incidents the U.S. had provided substantial aid to South Vietnam and also had a number of military advisers in South Vietnam.
The first incident took place on August 2, 1964, when the destroyer USS Maddox, engaged three North Vietnamese Navy torpedo boats seen approaching the Maddox. The Maddox fired first due to a belief they were under attack.
A sea battle resulted, in which the Maddox expended over two hundred and eighty 3-inch and 5-inch shells, and in which four USN F-8 Crusader jet fighter bombers strafed the torpedo boats. One US aircraft was damaged, one 14.5 mm round hit the destroyer. The three North Vietnamese torpedo boats were damaged, and four North Vietnamese sailors were killed. Six were wounded. There were no U.S. casualties, and no further U.S. action was taken.
vietnam_war_memorialThe second Tonkin Gulf incident was claimed to have taken place on August 4, 1964. During the hours of darkness, in rough weather and heavy seas, the Maddox and the Turner Joy reported receiving radar, and sonar signals believed caused by the North Vietnamese ships. Both the Maddox and the Turner reported multiple torpedos launched by the North Vietnamese. For some two hours the ships fired on ghost radar targets and maneuvered vigorously.
It was known quickly that no North Vietnamese ships had been in the vicinity, and no U.S. ships had been attacked. After the fraudulent second attack, LBJ capitalized on initial reports and ordered the bombing of four torpedo boat bases, and an oil-storage facility in Vinh.
