Retired Army Gen. David H. Petraeus, former CIA director under President Barack Obama, called strongly Saturday for Congress to back the White House on Syria, declaring that military action against the regime is “necessary” to deter “Iran, North Korea and other would-be aggressors.”
“Failure of Congress to approve the president’s request would have serious ramifications not just in the Mideast but around the world,” Petraeus said in a four-sentence statement provided to POLITICO.

Obama needs to be kidnapped by the CIA and dumped in Saudi Arabia. He won’t be able to get back in the US unless he crosses the Mexican border illegally because he has no birth certificate, no real social security number and no proof of US citizenship.

Patraeus has to support Obama. He (and Hillary and McCain) were up to their necks in supporting the supply of arms to the Syrian rebels.

An alternate interpretation is that Petraeus
has the same fidelity to the American people

I remember an interview with the late author Vince Flynn back when the Petraeus bimbo eruption story broke. Flynn’s latest (and as it turned out, last) Mitch Rapp novel featured a high ranking officer who was having an affair similar to Petraeus’. Flynn relayed that he had met Petraeus, and that he was not at all surprised at what happened. He said Petraeus did not impress him and that he struck him as a “political” general with a strong streak of narcissism. So, it is hardly surprising that he is backing the narcissist in chief.
