Christian Airman Punished by Lesbian Commander Faces Possible Court Martial

Updating our earlier report on Senior Master Sergeant Phillip Monk, a Christian serving in the Air Force whose unit is now commanded by a lesbian: according to Monk’s complaint filed with his superiors, he was relieved of duty for refusing his commander’s order to say he supports gay marriage.

Now the Air Force has taken the first steps to criminally investigate Monk for talking to the media about his situation. Despite the fact that earlier this year the Obama-Hagel Pentagon said they would never court-martial a service member for their Christian faith, they have taken the first steps to possibly court-martial Monk.

On Aug. 27, an Air Force investigator met with Monk and his attorney, Mike Berry from Liberty Institute. Berry expected it to be a routine meeting to take a statement from his client, but during the meeting the investigator said that he would read Monk his Miranda rights.

Monk was advised that he is being investigated for committing a crime by the U.S. military for making a false official statement, that he has the right to remain silent, and that he has the right to an attorney. The Air Force then assigned military defense counsel to him and is deciding whether to formally charge him with a crime, at which point Monk would either have to admit guilt and accept further punishment or face a court martial.

Monk is being investigated and might be formally charged for violating Article 107 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), which makes it a crime to make a false official statement. But Monk’s explaining his situation to the media is not an official statement.

I tell these kids that IF THEY JUST HAVE to go into the military, DO IT FOR THREE YEARS ONLY. To go into the military and learn a job skill they can sell on the outside. I.E. an 18 year old kid cannot become a cop till 21. So, go into the military for three years, be an MP, get the cop training that they can sell to a police force looking for officers. Three solid years in the military as an MP gives them three years of skill, carrying a weapon. They cannot from 18-21 as a civilian but can as an MP. So, I tell them learn ONLY a job you can sell on the outside. Not 3 years in the infantry, etc. You cannot sell that at age 21 or 22 to an employer. A mechanic, medical, MP, etc. type of jobs. ONLY do the three and RUN for civilian life. NO CAREER. We have been SCREWED into the ground by the government taking away what we were suppose to have when we retired. If I had to do it over again, I would have done the 3 and run. I wish someone had been around back then to tell me. But, then again, it was a different world 45 years or so ago.

It is now virtually against the law to have the same view of gay marriage - and to act on it - that Obama CLAIMED to have when he first ran for the presidency.

I was a military wife during the Viet Nam war and I was naïve about “anti-war” everything.

My history is FULL of warriors, as far back as my history goes, which is a VERY long way. My son served in the army and my daughter served in the navy, and they were proud to do so.

Now, I am so ashamed that we have such an anti-military government that I wonder why everyone in this country isn’t getting up off their backsides and marching on Washington. The White House, the Pentagon, the Congress, the House, the Senate...the PEOPLE that support these entities are getting money hand over fist, and our military is doing without badly needed equipment and PAY!

We can stop this government. We just need to come together.

The farmers did it for “parity.” The civil rights movement did it to give freedoms to ALL Americans, and WE can do it to get rid of the dead wood. Electing conservatives into the offices now held by RINOs and liberals is going to take too long. By then, the Shariah laws and Halal meats and mosques will have taken over much of America. It is insidious and it is SPECIFIC!

The Overpass Movement is awesome, but they need help. We need a few million people to march on Washington and let them know we are mad as hell and are not going to take it any more!

There’s either a large gap in this story or between my ears. Of course the Sarg should have expected retaliation if he was going to make a claim that he got relieved because of an opinion or refusal to adopt an opinion-—on anything. But the queer major, assuming that’s true, gave one helluva illegal order by ordering the Sarg to form an opinion, if that’s true. I have to wonder who shot their mouth off first? And who is investigating the charge that the Queen Major gave an illegal order?

The difference is, NOW days, there are no benefits like what we were told we would have. But, those benefits have been further and further taken away from us. When I entered, we were told we and our family members, until our kids reached 19 years old, have full medical benefits. Not any more. Now, only the active member has that. Obama in fact wanted them to have to pay for their combat injuries at one point. But now, we all pay. I have more and more taken out of my check each year to pay for my and my wife’s medical. The lies of what we would have and what we have now had taken away have come back to screw us all. Had we been told 35 years ago that today we would have what we have now, we could have planned better. Back then we planned for today on what they told us we would have today. But now it is more and more less. We did not plan for this and it has now come back to bite us. But then we thought, we trusted our leadership to live up to those promises. As usual, they LIED. They are all liars. that is why I tell kids not go go in. I do not believe I own any of the scum anything. I did my time. I earned what I earned. But they now take it all away.
