How the Loneliest Job in the World Got Even Lonelier (Obama Has Alienated Just About Everyone)
Foreign Policy ^ | SEPTEMBER 5, 2013 | DAVID ROTHKOPF

With his missteps on Syria, Obama has alienated just about everyone -- friends and frenemies alike.

It's not easy to get yourself into the kind of predicament that the president of the United States finds himself in today.

To one substantial group of Americans, he is too hawkish, recklessly pushing America into another Middle East war. To another group, he is too dovish, committing to such limitations on intervention that any military action to come will almost certainly be nothing more than an empty gesture, advancing no vital U.S. interest.

To some, he is acting too rashly, not allowing enough time for international inspectors to make their case, for international partners to align behind the United States, or for diplomacy to work. And still to others, Obama is the Ditherer-in-Chief, having fecklessly wrung his hands while Syria burned, while 100,000 died, while chemical weapons were used repeatedly, and while extremists congregated on the burning battlefields turning that country into the training ground for a new generation of bad guys.

Though some see Obama's turn to Congress as supporting the spirit of the Constitution, others see his subsequent assertions that he could still act without legislative approval as invalidating, a move that instead reveals the entire gambit to be little more than a political ploy, a feint to win more cover.

At home, the president is even facing strong opposition from the liberal Democrats who once supported him, believing that he would undo the unintended consequences of what they saw as the reckless interventionism of his Republican predecessor and from isolationist right-wing Republicans. Internationally, it is perhaps no surprise that Syria's supporters,

There are a few cracks in the media dam but they’ll spackle over them and continue to cover his arse.

Cut BO some slack for his endless dithering.

He can't figure out which course of action will do America the maximum amount of damage. If he could, then his decision would be clear.

He doesn’t care about “legacy”. He doesn’t have the depth or character to think beyond a round of golf, vacation and lighten up a KOOL cigarette.

"And still to others, Obama is the Ditherer-in-Chief"

Most of us just think he's an incompetent, usurping fool. Pretty much covers it.

Somehow I don’t think he cares who he alienates. He still gets what he wants, jets off to ultra expensive vacations wherever and whenever he wants, and the kneepad media is as loyal as a pet dog.

And when it all collapses he and his kids will, in his own words “be just fine”.

It’s not like he’s being denied the unbridled admiration, acclaim, sycophancy he so overwhelmingly deserves, renowned as the greatest man of our generation, of any generation, in thus far having been unsuccessful in his relentless pursuit of “Peace In Our Time”.

Abraham, Moses, Jesus, “Men of Scripture”, the path of which he believes is his to follow, have from time-to-time faltered along their path to eventual glory and greatness.

We must always keep uppermost in our minds how it is no mere coincidence that Obama is known as the Winston Churchill of Kenya, his leonine stature casting a giant shadow across the vast wastelands, wilderness of inner Chicago.

Amidst the sudden obstacles that have appeared out of nowhere in the guise of handicaps, sand, water traps, is the Caligula-inspired legacy he dreams of in search of immortality rising on the Potomac that remains frustratingly elusive as the grand vision made in his own image. But yet the true believer remains infinitely upbeat in the knowledge that come what may hope springs eternal, hope always springs eternal,, even if that “hope” is merely a figment within the synaptic netherworld from which there is no escape.

HA-HA,
Obama has leaped ahead of Bohner in the loneliest person in the world category,

On the bright side, Rev Al is supporting him even on this, but the rest of the MSNBC hosts are against it.

He made it clear that it was his personal call to declare the red line. It is pretty lame when he now says it is an international call...the President has no clothes.
We thought he was an empty suit..but turns out he is naked and has no substance.

Time for a shot of Bowbama looking in a mirror and seeing who's to blame!

Somehow I don't think he cares who he alienates

Except his inner circle: Holder, Jarret, Susan Rice etc. Anyone who negotiates with him is really naive or really stupid or both.

Putin is neither stupid nor naive.
