In a letter dated August 18, 2013, 13 members of the Maine Republican Party have resigned and/or unenrolled from their political party.
The letter outlines many grievances.
Therefore, for the above-stated reasons, we can no longer allow ourselves to be called nor enrolled as Republicans; we can no longer associate ourselves with a political party that goes out of its way to continually restrict our freedoms and liberties as well as reaching deeper and deeper into our wallets.

To Maine State GOP Secretary Chuck Mahaleris:
There are times in your life when you must choose between two paths.
The first path, if taken, would require us to remain within the Republican Party despite the fact that we know without a doubt that Republican ideas of more freedom and less taxes while sounding good and repeated by any and all candidates are in fact, worth no more than the paper that they are written on.
The second path leads to a principled preservation of our individual integrity, helping out our fellow citizens at the local level, and doing our level best for our Creator, our families, and our friends.
We have therefore chosen to follow the path of the latter.

“I wish folks would learn the difference between “loose” and “lose”.”
Try the ESPN and Youtube forums, the level of literacy approaches Arab-level stupidity. And don’t get me started on the idiots who couldn’t get the different between “Your” and “you’re”...
The Maine GOP stole Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential primary victory.
My,Oh My.I’m actually impressed with that letter to the Maine GOP.
Now if a lot more Republicans do the same thing,Just maybe the Republican Party and the Speaker of the House will wake up and start fighting this dictator who’s trying to bankrupt us while at the same time strip away or Constitutional Rights.
We watch our local news so we can play "spot the misspellings." There's at least one every night.
If you don't see the Gutless Obsolete Pretenders fitting this description these days, it may be you who is confused.
We send them to fight FOR us and our issues, not AGAINST them and us.
Most have been pretending that the GOP is the opposition since Bush the elder was elected and began dismantling the Reagan Revolution and legacy.
That's worked well, hasn't it?
Sarcasm aside, lying to oneself and others, the basic tenants of the marxist progressive demonrats and french rino GOPe, usually gets the predictable results and we're ninety percent of the way there.
Grand Old Pigeons ?

This is fantastic : But the biggest question is, “What now?”
A lot of ex-patriated members are moving to Libertarian parties, while the Democrats are only forming alliances with Communist parties (Which we KNEW would happen when the mask came off) So we’re getting weaker, and the Dems are getting FAR MORE powerful.
The key is not to abandon Republican values. It’s to abandon to the idea of “Compromise”.
We are now 2 generations into the compromises of the GOP. Now their legacy compromises are what the Republicans are defending as a core value. Compromise is NOT core. The Constitution is Core.
I pop a blood vessel everytime I hear a so-called Republican talk about “Reasonable gun control” or “Mental Health” issues.
They are defending a conservative ideal from THEIR view-point: But the viewpoint has lost so much damned ground from “Compromise” with the Dems (Who are now Communists) that the GOP isn’t constitutional at all. We lost a republic. The GOP isn’t pushing for a return of the Republic, only for the preservation of an awkward post-republic democracy rife with corruption and socialism.
End result? We lose the constitution. The republic is gone. Replaced by a democracy through “Meeting in the middle” and “Compromise”.
I know what I can do. I know what my constitution does. The days of Compromise didn’t work, so lets roll back to what DID work. Leaving the GOP won’t do it, Joining the libertarians won’t do it, and allowing the RATS to join forces with Commies CERTAINLY will win.
Up to a point. And heaven help them when the lights go off or a dinner for my family costs $100.
better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.
These people took over the Maine state party committee ... then they found out that the RNC didn’t want to agree with all ... that they couldn’t take over the RNC.
So they quit. As soon as they were frustrated in part, they would have copped a resentment and run off.
Do they have delusions of grandeur? Regardless, whatever they try next, they will crash and burn.
Today, obstruction rather than compromise is more likely the order of the day in Congress. No change is generally better for tea party backers than another law, which might expand government somehow, as Obamacare has done.
Lord, I HOPE that wasn’t the headline! If it was, some editor needs to be FIRED. The word in this case is LOSES, not looses!
That would be a GoodThing(tm).

Can’t loosen anything if an appendange is not in tent .
That's been obvious for years, considering Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins have been Senators from ME for so long.
Is there still a Republican Party?
