Al Jazeera America begins broadcasting Tuesday but will only be available in about 50 million homes. A link on the network’s website allows users to search whether the channel is available in their neighborhood, and provides a form letter for potential customers to request it from their TV providers.

understood. but we get better coverage of what happens in America from British tabloids (UK Mail, etc) than we do here . It’s not lost on me that Al J is Muslim controlled but all I really care about is honest reporting that doesn’t insult my intelligence . I can filter propaganda myself, but I can’t do that if even the basic facts aren’t presented.

Worse than MSNBC may not be possible, but the issue is what would people have said if Tokyo Rose had been broadcast on American radio during WWII?
So the broadcast content may not, at least initially, have the look and feel of the usual Al Jazeera fare.
Usual AlJazeera fare is say one thing in English something else in Arabic.. usually the direct opposite or close to that..
The Koran demands “lies” from muslimnoids to non-muslimese..

This will only work with providers with whom you are actually a subscriber. I think Verizon and Comcast are going to carry it, since they've run ads for it.
Burned me up seeing an AlGorezeera ad on FoxNews channel during O'Reilly -- I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that his convoluted plug for it was because he was on orders from on high!
Let's hope. Parents Television Council has been fighting this issue for years, so that families can keep porn channels off their box. The rise of Internet viewing and sites like Hulu are finally driving some nails in the bundle coffin.
It may not be a "business" proposition as we understand it. More like a bid for under-the-radar influence. Arabs crave and esteem backstairs influence.
