Make room, guys. The girls are coming to the Boy Scouts of America's national jamboree.
For the first time, female participants will be among the more than 40,000 Scouts and leaders attending the national gathering that occurs every four years. The jamboree runs July 15 to 24 at the Summit outdoor adventure site in southern West Virginia....
Letting them participate was "just the right thing for us to do," Pritchard said. "This was just the next logical step for us to take, to give those members of our program an opportunity to enjoy what we have here as well, to drink the Kool-Aid and spread the word to the others who are in Venturing, to both young men and young women."
The jamboree approaches as Boy Scouts of America faces turmoil after its move to accept openly gay boys as Scouts. The BSA's National Council voted in May to allow gays after years of pressure....

Might as well since the BSA has determined to join the movement that seeks to destroy gender lines and the norms of sexuality.

In my day we could sniff the girl scouts out and find them within a couple of miles.

I think that this more than the homo thing will kill the boy scouts. No way they survive once girls are allowed in and the process of feminizing the organization begins. Sad really as there are less and less places for boys to just be boys.

I predict lawsuits for girls to enter the boy scouts next. But when they win it, just wait for the boys lawsuits to enter the girl scouts. Now that the boy scouts have allowed gay scouts, wait for the first rapes by the gays.

BSA Venturing Crews for ages 14-20 accept girls. My sons recently returned from a BSA summer camp this year, and they said there were a few girls there with a Venturing Crew.
But, if they start accepting girls as boy scouts, that would be a different matter.
It seems that, lately, BSA is trying to promote Venturing as a young adult organization. It doesn’t seem as if there are many Venture Crews, compared with the number of boy scout troops, and BSA has been trying to actively promote Venturing.
Is there a Merit Badge for fake ID’s?
So now the jamboree is just an orgy?

I ran across a couple of girls in Venturing. They were very pleasant and well-mannered. They were comparing their iPod collections of Christian music.
That's what happened to the Campfire Girls, an organization designed to promote morality and feminine values among girls. Around the time Saigon fell to the Communists, the organization become coed and dropped the "Girls" to become simply "Campfire."
Correct. This is Venturing and it’s been open to girls for a long time. Explorers is also unisex, with very few girls, just like Venturing.
