WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Justice Department says it is looking into the shooting death of Trayvon Martin to determine whether federal prosecutors should file criminal civil rights charges now that George Zimmerman has been acquitted in the state case.

Up until this point, though Zimmerman was picked on and railroaded to a point, one could rationalize things as being just the way things are perhaps, when the black guy is in charge.
Zimmerman is less white than Obama!
So should we all be, in my opinion.
Sure hope so!
He was the one who elevated his position with Mlk. If someone had called him on the lies then we wouldnt have him spreading them now
We didnt have twitter and FB or any other outlets then. We do now. So lets get off our collective cracker asz and get to work
When the ill winds blow I’ll stand with George Z.....
Give me the target media and I’ll join in
Take that Barry O
Isn’t this what the OP is talking about and linked to in this thread? This “on going investigation” has to be new. The feds were already sent to Florida last year and did a big investigation and released a statement about not finding anything.
That would be a unique stalker wouldn’t it. “Excuse me please, Officer O’Malley, but I’ll be stalking at 5th and Vine from 6-7 pm tonight. Would you please come and video the event?”
Banana republic.

Semantics question. If you want to call it a “new investigation” I suppose you could think of it that way.
I don’t... from the article, it looks like more of a review of existing evidence to see if federal prosecution is warranted (or possible — they can’t try him on murder or manslaughter, because he has been acquitted of those and there’s no double jeopardy).
I think they’re just blowing smoke to appease their race grievance friends. We’ll see.
Also, Mark OMara made it clear during his press conference that he is fully prepared to fight the Feds. and any others seeking to further harm George Zimmerman.
So should we all be, in my opinion.
4th army vet 68-70... ready to join a screaming eagle......
Have some good friends who served in that fine group at the same time...
Regarding readiness:
As we say “ DiDi Mao “ in this case DOJ , name the group....
( for non service members of VietNam era )
didi mao” (pronounced “dee-dee mahew” (rhymes with cow) is US Military/Vietnamese slang for “go away” or “bug out” or “get out of here”.
Maybe they’re saying that to let things calm down. In a week or three they’ll say there’s nothing to be done ?
Thank you for that well thought out and well-stated post! I never thought I’d be ashamed to be an American (I’m not ashamed of my fellow conservatives, and still love our constitution, but I’m very ashamed of our current government.) Yes, please keep praying for America, that we will repent and turn back to the Lord. That is exactly what we need to heal our messed up country.

And as they wait for Crump et al to make the next biggest mistake of his life, they need to free Shellie from the clutches of the wicked witch of Jacksonville.
If this is the case, I hate them even more. They are using the threat of future charges they never intend to bring (if this is the case) against an innocent citizen to gain political points.
Absolutely disgusting.
Yes they did this already though.
And it gives wet grass its sound.
Exactly. GZ’s wife still has charges hanging over her, and now this DOJ BS to see if any civil rights were violated. When is the government going to stop going after this man.
For those who think this is just for show to appease the black vote, think again. I have no doubt Holder would love to find a way to charge GZ. This needs to END NOW.
Sound familiar?
I don’t see how that could happen. There’s no reason to try a Federal case from Florida in the District of Columbia.
Crump like the others in the BGI talk big but that’s all it is — talk.
Even George Stephanopolous wasn’t buying his bs this morning. He asked him point blank — are you filing a civil suit or not??? and Crump ran like a wounded squirrel from the question.
Yes. I recall Dershowitz had indicated that he wanted to represent him if an appeal were needed. Wonder if he has the chops to defend this?
