Atlantic Southeast Airlines, an Atlanta-based Delta connection regional carrier, recently made aviation history when one of its flights from Atlanta to Nashville was conducted by a crew comprised entirely of African-American women. This landmark event which happened by chance comes on the tail end of Black History Month.
It's late but interesting to me in that I never saw a mention of these women anywhere, but there's plenty of free Obama phone ranters and race baiters in the news everyday.

Why is it something to celebrate when a black finally masters some job or task that has been routine for others for decades and decades?
Well - we all know why.
But in the Bizarro States of 21st Century America it's not acceptable to ask the question or to answer it.
Who’s going to park the thing?
Why worry about the pilot only? From the guy that puts the gas in, to the baggage handler stuffing crap in willy nilly, to the mechanic that says “eff it”....
You’re taking a chance any way you look at it.
I once was on a commuter plane out of Atlanta - all white crew, BTW. They got permission to take off and barreled out balls-to-the-wall fully loaded. Over, OVER halfway down the runway the pilot chickens out because of a light and does emergency stop. Taxi back to gate, mechanic does a lookey loo, nuttin wrong and we take off again in the same damn plane.
“Just plain ass sick of it.”
I’m tired of this sh*t, too. Like my Filipino bud once said, the most racist people he has encountered are white liberals. They’re the ones preaching multiculturalism yet they don’t have a single non-white friend in their circle. Effing hypocrites’...
I’m sick of this crap of the first homo, the first black the first woman.
We used to celebrate being all the same, same language, we’re all American and others wanted that but now the dumb white guilt fools who have no brains celebrate us all being different.
frigging idiots.
I care about getting form one place to another and knowing someone can fly the damn thing, the first black all woman crap only makes lacks want to stay in their community, makes white guilt fools celebrate us being different and in some cases puts us in danger if they’re not qualified.
My guess is that the goal is that all flight crews be black women.
And when they get fired? Lawsuits of racism.
WGAS
me too.
Ever seen those black colleges?
I have and trust me they learn nothing but leave with a degree.
Well some people cannot get skin color or gender out of their every thought.
If we are to all be equal, why is this even a story?
Didn’t MLK have something to say about character vs skin color?
The left will never miss an opportunity to divide us into thousands of small little groups which of course they can convince that the dem plantation is best for them.
Anyone who likes to identify themselves as XYZ-Americans are not only inferior Americans but have no concept of what being an American means.
Hyphenated Americans are not Americans.
If they are qualified pilots, why should it be “newsworthy” that they are flying?
“have to wonder if theyre in their position due to affirmative action / gender preference”
Yep, shouldn’t the first question be “are they qualified?”
I had a college girl tell me that y area and the school was not diverse, I told her that I had not noticed and that I only look at people as people and not by their color as it’s racist,
she shut up and I will always say that to these dopes
Makes you so feel so much better about yourself there are no Whites on the plane.
Pray for America to Wake Up
I’ll loudly second that. I don’t give a rat’s ass about the color or gender. What I want to know is are they proficient, how many flight hours do they have in large aircraft, what is their overall record (accidents, incidents, etc); that they are NOT affirmative action placements.
The fact that this is hyped as it is makes me less likely to consider flying with them because of the reasons indicated above. Too many questions.
Like I should give a damn what the race of the aircraft’s crew was.All I care about is whether the crew was qualified to fly the damned plane so the passengers could arrive safely at their destinations.
The media is always throwing articals about race around creating divisiveness .
When will it ever stop?
An all black crew? That’s some freakin accomplishment?
Puhleeze.
No one celebrates the Irish anymore....
These are the key words and is what makes this story worth taking note of. It was not engineered, like so many other situations.
Bravo to Delta's Atlantic Southeast Airlines and their management for doing the right thing without gov’t coersion. I bet these two AMERICANS will do the industry proud for a long time to come.
All I care about is can they fly?
